If he's rejected Poxford and come here, just like Wilder, the man's a Cobblers legend before a ball's been kicked in my eyes another feather in our cap

It's not what he's done before with Burton or QPR, it's what he does with us. I hope he does well until then my wood remains of the balsa variety

Think some of the players will need to get their running boots on for the next few weeks. Fitness, work-rate and organisation seems to be the main positives to expect.

Pretty sure I saw him play at Sixfields. For Chelski I presume. Am I right?
I'll answer my own question then. 1st Aug 2001. Cobblers v Chelsea We took the lead through Gabbiadini following a flap from Bosnich, but Melchiot equalised before half time. JFH came on for the second half and duly bagged a brace, with Lampard also scoring two of the six we conceded second half, in a 1-7 thrashing (the first of many of new young signing Lampard's Chelski goals).

I remember him playing at Sixfields in a pre season friendly for Chelsea. He burst out of defence with the ball and ran the length of the pitch with 10 cobblers trying to catch him. 'Twas a fine sight indeed.

The most exciting option possible. Hoorah! One in the eye for all the dullards here. Personally I wanted Big Ron Atkinson

JFH's first team selection will say so much to the fans.
My advice; do not start with Revell and Rico up front. Play players in their best positions. Entertain the fans with some attacking football.
Over to JFH !

r To be honest although KT says he "knows nothing about the football side of things" I think he should tip JFH off before we kick a ball and I'm sure some of the players will too. It doesn't work with this crop and thats fact. But think about it Rico and Revs Poole Taylor Pierre Barnett are probably gonna say they love 5-3-2 aren't they?

Not my first choice but not my last either. Some on here have indicated that he may have some how had it a bit easy when taking over a winning squad at Burton. However, I don't think thats as simple as people imagine. Being who he is, it would have been easy for his ego to get in the way and destroy what had been built (bit like our much loved old manager Pob Rage did). Given that he was able to improve on a winning formula was to his credit and is a sign that perhaps he is our man? Baring in mind the slight issue that our lot are not a winning formula and this is a very different proposition. Still a new day dawns with a head full of dreams and a heart full of hope anyway.

I like the fact he keeps the intensity up in training, it is noticeable how we were probably just going through the motions in training with JED and Page. You need that intensity of a match to keep you going for a Saturday. He also seems to focus on team spirit. I know Wilder is long gone but all this seems similar to what he did and it worked. Good luck to him, good times ahead I hope.

A very good insight to JFH
Very interesting and he dispels the myth that they were successful when he joined. I think he said they had lost seven of the nine games previous to his appointment
