His ability to get round the pitch is massive for us, starting to become more confident when on the ball as well.
Agreed. Was very impressed with his part in our first goal last night. Looks like he will be a key part of our squad this season.

McWilliams has been a revelation for us this season, he seems to grow in confidence and ability with every game and is an important part of our team now. Glad this will only mean a short break for him, the tackle looked nasty from where I was sat and was one of several thuggish challenges from Pompey.
Kasim did much better than expected when he came on, but is no McWilliams for sure.
Agree that Poole might get a look at now, plays DM for Wales U-21's and for Man Utd at times.

To be more specific, the youth team or U23's as opposed to the first team. Pretty sure I have seen him play there in streamed games more than once.

McWilliams clearly has talent and has impressed Wilder, Page, Edinburgh and now JFH. I thought he was looking early contender for man of the match last night so was absolutely gutted when he got injured.

What's his contract status? as far as I'm aware he signed a 2 year professional contract back in 2016 that will expire at the end of the season. Surely worth the club being proactive and extending it now.

I agree... get his contract sorted out now. We've too often made the mistake of letting contracts run down in the past.

Ref was looking at it as well, was it Kennedy? left his foot in a few times last night catching our players late.
Yes, it was a very poor tackle and deserved a yellow at least. Mind you the ref was shocking throughout IMO, nearly always favouring Portsmouth. When Powell came on he blew up for at least 3 fouls against him and I'm pretty sure none of them were. Good news about McWilliams though, which is the most important thing.

A bit of a Darren Harmon I feel? He had his critics but I always rated him, great engine.

Agreed, Powell needed to be more clever but it seemed the referee had some some kind of vendetta against him. Anytime he was anywhere near the ball, it was a foul against, according to ref at least

No fault on the referee's part, they were all obvious fouls.

If Powell's were all obvious fouls, then Revell should have received 5+ free kicks for the way has handled during the game. Plus that one that ref waved off as a shoulder barge. No consistency for me. I distinctly remember the ref not giving us a foul and then 5 seconds later blowing up against Powell for a lesser offense. It baffles me sometimes...

Yes there was a challenge earlier in the game when one of theirs flattened ours with a shoulder barge and the ref said it was a shoulder and waved play on.
Powell on the other hand had a free kick against him later on for just being the stronger man in shoulder to shoulder contact.

No wonder the Pompey fans thought that the ref was excellent!
