Other than the first 10 minutes, we were utterly toothless. Rotherham won 1-0 but 3-0 would have been a fairer reflection.

Bit harsh that - the fact is that we defensively played ok with Ingram excellent. Personally I thought that 1-0 was about right as most of their chances where relatively long range , that is outside the box. You would expect a decent keeper to keep out most of them; which he did!
Another thing would Rotherham have won without Moore - not to sure about that! You need to take into the account that at 1-0 and belatedly getting back into the game we seemed to "in with a chance"! A frantic crowd and hasty clearances by Rotherham gave credit to that!

I think he has to try something different now by reshuffling his admittedly very limited options. I'm a huge fan of 4-2-3-1 but it may be that without Long, Crooks and O'Toole (i.e. our main goal threats) we simply don't have the personnel to play it. Yes it was at a lower level, but Waters scored 16 goals last year for a struggling side which is a hell of a lot more than anyone else we currently have available. He might just be our best chance of a goal at the moment.

I think JFH might be tempted to go with 4-4-2 in a bid to get the best out of him, because he clearly isn't suited to playing either the lone striker or one of the attacking trident in a 4-2-3-1. This is what I'd try:

                                          Ingram
                         Moloney  Pierre  Taylor   Buchanan

Powell (no choice) Kasim  Grimes    Smith/Foley

                                     Rico      Waters

When Long, Crooks and O'Toole are back then we can re-evaluate and get back to 4-2-3-1, but I think we need a pragmatic interim solution which maximises our  chances of scoring goals.

Blimey - you made it to an away game - well done anyway.
Thank-you squire,
I don't travel so often these days but that was a new league ground for me, number 98 watching us play a competitive game on, so I don't feel overly guilty about it.
Hats off to you and everyone else who travel to most away games though, you're proper hardcore. Well done.
Incidentally, I'm planning to get to London rd on tuesday, so that'll be three away games on the spin for me Smiley

We scored 6 goals in JFH's first 3 games in charge. So, this group of players can score goals.
weren't they pretty much all from Crooks & Long, if they come back then maybe but with the likes of Revell, Bowditch, Powell & Smith no chance, not good enough

Entirely agree with this.

Including Waters probably being our biggest goal threat - if used as a striker. I think I'd like to see Foley given a chance on the left wing (we've played every other left footer here...!).
