His performance was that of an energetic, youthful fullback playing out of position. His energy was very useful with our tactics to press and win the ball everywhere on the park. However, we dominated play against MK, and the only reason we never looked like scoring was because Hanley, Powell and Revell are sadly just not up to it. That was a poor MK side that we dominated and couldn't score against.

Definitely depends on your ambition if you expect more from your attacking outlet.

You don't appear to share JFH opinion on Hanley plus a fair few others from Tuesday night. I also don't think MK were necessarily a poor side; maybe I prefer to give the team more credit for a display which nullified MK on the night. In fact I thought that MK defence was fairly solid.
Ambition : I don't have a lot when the team are so inadequately served up front. With midfield, defence and goal keeper I do. As far as I am concerned I would like to see the Club in the Championship and/or higher. This is because I have a lot of faith in JFH ability to shape a good team and unearth decent players otherwise forgotten. Your idea of ambition is somewhat naive ; if you don't rate a player (Bowditch and Hanley) you merely label them as not good enough and propose you want better and parade it as ambition. I hope Hanley on Saturday if selected has a good game justifying his selection - we shall see.

I would say it’s more to do with his friendship with the chairman.
We need goals . If we don’t score we will go down , however right we are .
Two wide players are essential and Long needs 15 goals

Long has a "hamstring" injury.

I'm clinging onto the hope that JFH wouldn't have signed on if he hadn't been given some guarantees regarding bringing players in/the playing budget - the alternative is hideous to contemplate.

In theory we could still sign anyone couldn't We?

Providing they get released by their current club and are a free agent?

I think that's right, I'm sure there's some kind of loophole somewhere. The fact that we haven't brought anyone in must mean that there's nothing out there worth the Risk, but the fact that JFH decided to send joe and lobjoit out on loan when he already knew that long was going to be out for a while suggests to me that he's either happy with what he's got - which he's on record as saying he's not - or we have someone lined up. Even if we limp to January I've no idea who we are going to be able to bring in of the quality we need when everyone else is looking for the same and no one is going to want to lose a prolific striker.

No, they would need to have been released by 31 August. Any one released now won't be able to sign for another team until 1 January - remember Dean Cox last season.

Also, JFH has ruled out signing anyone because it will take 5 weeks to get them fit and a further 5 games to get match fit.

I don't remember him categorically ruling it out. What he said is they are looking but it is difficult for your reasons stated

If you listen to his interview on iplayer before the Rotherham game, he clearly implies what I have pointed out above.

Jimmy has been looking at players from nearly the first day he arrived. Most are European but one was released by a championship club in the summer. I think we are free to sign players, released in the summer, before January. If we want to.

From what I saw against Bradford, we need at least 2 players: a natural winger with pace and a forward. There's no doubting the quality we have in some of the other positions.

Yep heard the interview and all he said was it would be difficult no more, no less.

One to watch in Jan maybe El khayati. JFH has signed him twice, released by qpr in the summer currently back in hollandaise where he has scored 5 in 11

I'm tempted to ask what's your sauce! Seriously, that would be a quality signing but he was given a 3 year deal in September by ADO and he seems to be doing well in the eredivision so possibly not in our range.

Is it a left midfielder/winger?
