Cobblers make their first of two away trips to London Road this season as we face our old rivals Peterborough United in the local derby. This is a Checkatrade Trophy Group Stage clash.

Posh won the first derby of the season, the league game at Sixfields, 4-1. Cobblers haven't beaten Posh since 2006.

Town urgently need a morale-boosting win after three losses in a row in the league, as the brief reversal of fortunes under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink threatens to peter out.

Although it's a Checkatrade game, hopefully we can still take a good following to London Road.

It's a shame iacifano and lobjoit aren't going to be able to stake a claim in this - I assume that foley will get a debut and I wonder if jjot might get a cameo to get a bit of a run out.

£10 to get in for this one, as opposed to Posh's normal price for away fans £28  Shocked

We need to be trying out new striking partnerships in this game .....
I agree it is an opportunity missed for the two lads on loan
Surely Waters has to be played up front ?
He played well at the start of the season .

Because the Cambridgeshire police have proved over the years that they haven't got a clue. I heard on the radio that the queues are back to Oundle already  Grin

Stewarding reasons.

It's an odd one this, being the Chuckletrade... so they'll be expecting a low attendance... but then you've got the fact its Cobbers vs Posh, and they could easily have hundreds decide to go on the day, and they wouldn't have the stewards to handle it.

Hope Jimmy uses the game to be a bit experimental, won't be going though!

Would have been the ideal game for young Joe and Lobjoit to be given a run out but alas we can’t use them now...

Kin’ pointless game!

I can recall a game back in the 90s, some sort of tin pot cup game, midweek, they didnt expect anybody to turn up, one turnstile open, and 1500 of us rocked up, and swamped them. That wasnt all ticket, I think that I queued for about half an hour to get in. And missed a large chunk of the first half. I guess that they learned their lesson that day. I miss that terrace though.

That's a big shame if true - I'm starting to lose faith that we're ever going to be able to field our strongest lineup, they seem to be taking it in turns to get injured and the estimates from the club for return dates seem to fluctuate by the week.

Chance for get some match time into squad players and maybe play Waters up front in his correct position. Even though its against the swamp donkeys I really don't care about the result, the best result is fitness for squad players, no bookings, sendings off or injuries.

You'll miss LM debut!

Always thought ex Jorno's always retained the habit of never missing a story?

Two Academy players on the bench - Cameron McWilliams (younger brother of Shaun) and James Gillard.
