Definitely has pedigree but what position is he playing? Showed some good form over his career and still a good age.

Wow, great signing! Still only 28 years old too.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_McGuganInteresting signing. I remember playing against him and Luke Chambers at the Thrapston 6aside tournament a few years back. Played mostly in the Championship, so should be a decent signing... And as Drilling said, he's at a good age. Hopefully doesn't take too long to get match fit either seeing as he has had a full preseason and was part of the Sheff Weds squad right through until 31st August. Always thought he was a central player though.

I remember him scoring some belters for Forest but that was around 4/5 years ago. Really shocked at how his career has just slid since then. Hopefully he is ready to make an immediate impact, will be good in the number 10 position if he is interested.

So was he injured at Wednesday or just lost it?
Seems more like an attitude thing from what I can gather.

I've had a bit of a whatsapp conversation with my friend who's an avid Wednesday supporter. Apparently he was always up against it and often split fans opinion being on a rumoured £20,000 a week and not producing the goods consistently (despite being a 1 in 4 midfielder). He was signed with the fans being told they were signing one of the best players outside the premiership which resulted with inevitable disappointment. Either way, he said he's on a different level to us and no idea what he's doing here ... Fully expect McGugan see's this as putting himself in the shop window for January. If he scores us some much needed goals, I'm sure none of us will mind.

Yeah one thing that is not in question is his talent is easily championship level. I hope he does well and somehow we extend his stay here. Midfield options of JJOT, Grimes, Poole, Mcgugan, Foley, Crooks, Bowditch, Kasim, Mcwilliams is pretty insane.
If only WE COULD SCORE A GOAL

Yeah good signing if his head is right.
Bit of a coup for our level.

I’m sure the whingers will find a reason to moan about him.
What ever the circumstances, however long he’s staying and whatever has gone on in the past Lewis McGugan is a fabulous signing for little old us.
Welcome Lewis, can’t wait to see you in the claret and white shirt.

To be fair, 9 goals in 39 appearances in the championship for his most recent club isn’t too shabby either.

He has a better goals to games ratio than all of our strikers. At a better level too.

Good signing, 2010-11, 13 goals and 13 assists..
Replacement for M Taylor as dead ball specialist... Which is needed.

Yep. Looks too quick and a bit too keen on beating his man and having a crack from 20+ yards for my liking. Obviously likes scoring too. not what we want at all..... Welcome Lewis, looking forward to you resurrecting your career by banging them in for us...

This signing could go anyway for us (and him)!
He could be sensational and get his career back on track.
OR he could be utter dross, struggle to motivate himself and disappear out of the professional game very quickly.
It sounds as if due diligence has been done though, with him training with the team for a decent period of time. Lets hope the *risk pays off.
Id say its definitely in the bracket of 'exciting signings'. Is he going to be another Kevin Thornton or will he be a Gabor Gypes?!

I assumed he worked with JFH at forest a few years back, good to show the contacts working well already.

Looks like he'll be in the number 10 role from what people are saying, at the very least an able replacement for Crooks if up for it just not the same physical specimen.
This weekends team sheet will be interesting.
