In what way does KT take the blame for the recruitment?? And I'd say the loanees are probably some of our best players! Ingram is our best GK, Long our best attacker, Grimes our most creative midfielder. Poole...undecided.
Agree on Pierre, I've said from the start he's an accident waiting to happen.
Because KT would sanction the deals and at the end of the day he's the chairman. Don't forget he appointed Page and JED and the let JED sign a team of midfielders

Ingram
Maloney Taylor Poole Buchanan
Waters Grimes Kassim Hoskins
Long Richards
There's a problem. Moloney and Long are injured (possibly) and Hoskins has just returned from injury. Other than that I quite like it.

As a manager I'd be very disappointed if the chairman had final say in who I signed. I don't know how the club is run, and whether KT does or does not interfere with signings, but I think the blame must lie with the manager/scouting team (and the s***e players brought in with good CVs like Powell).

I'm certainly not one for micro managing but if i had a manager overseeing a £2 million player wage budget, i'd want to approve the strategy for player recruitment using this budget Sadly 7 centre midfielders, 1 winger, 2 OAP's and a bunch of kids up front suggests that KT didn't do that with Edinburgh over the summer.

Just seen Wimbledon have lost a key player through injury. After the fortune of playing against a depleted Bristol Rovers last week, I'm now more optimistic than ever for tomorrow.
2-0 win.

Good post Rob . I would actually criticise KT for not being involved enough in recruitment . Both Edinburgh and Page had too much of a free reign . We have wasted money through poor decision making . The goalkeeping situation is a prime example of that .

Thoughts about this game have meandered all week. Still expecting a much improved performance but currently thinking a draw, probably 0-0. Depends a lot on the team sheet really. Mind you, the only thing to predict with any confidence about us at the moment is that there will be a lot of activity come January.

f***ing hell. How can anyone criticise KT for the transfers without knowing how much involvement he has had?
You let your manager manage,?
Deserves criticism for the appointment of Andy Melville though.

Completely agree... When I spoke with KT regarding the possibility of Bunn coming back at Sileby, he said "player recruitment nothing to do with me, down to the manager, not for me to interfere as the manager must be accountable for any recruitment" there you go, straight from the mouth of KT!

I completely agree in terms of personnel that are brought in, but in terms of the recruitment strategy (I.e type of player, positions to strengthen etc) surely there must be a plan that's run by KT at some point. He's the chairman and recruitment is possibly the most important part of running a club I'm a huge fan of KT and think we're lucky to have him, though we've been through 3 transfer windows and still haven't properly replaced Holmes or Adams and apart from a few games in September last year, have been pretty poor since ....

That’s all very well but there must be someone overseeing the strategy . Football managers are not necessarily balanced individuals that can control large budgets . There needs to be guidance from above to ensure everything is on track . Edinburgh was way off kilter with his recruitment , illustrated in the imbalance of the squad. It’s the same as any other business , no one person should have complete control without checks and balances in place .

I would hope the only input from KT or any chairman is to explain to the manager how much money is available. The rest is purely down to the manager and his team.

Excited about this line up - Hoskins and Waters up front. It'll at least push us into trying to play the ball on the ground. McG and McW in midfield too.

Frederick Ingram "Fanny" Walden (1 March 1888 – 3 May 1949) was an English professional footballer who played on the right-wing for Northampton Town, Tottenham Hotspur and at international level for England during the 1910s and 1920s.
