How about Melbourne Football Club also known as the Demons? I was shocked to learn that they are the oldest club of any code in the world affiliated in 1858 4 years before Notts County. On second thoughts don’t bother, the games as boring as bats 5hit.

Erm, well Sheffield FC was founded in 1857 so I’m not sure about that one....

Mate, this is fantastic news. It’s claimed everywhere here and all over the net that Melbourne is the oldest professional club of any code in the world. Therefore in their eyes it’s “real football”. Morning, noon and night they bang on about it. I am going to have an absolute field day with this. I suppose they’ll sulk like they usually do and argue Sheffield are not full time professional but who cares about that minor technicality? Still as I say it’s not proper football, so doesn’t count on that score either, I call it girls rugby.

Yeah heavens forbid anyone on here or indeed anywhere on the planet should have an opinion about anything that is anything other than what the PC brigade tell us it should be.

I’m actually a big supporter of feminism. It’s stops birds from giggling, being silly and makes them employable. As long as there’s no heavy lifting involved obviously.

I must admit it would be Aston Villa. Long story but I defy anyone to tell me a better place than Villa Park for atmosphere, even in the Championship. UTV

It would be the new Cobblers for me, but in the absence of such if it were anyone, it would also have to be Villa...My parents and maternal grandparents lived on Trinity rd, dads brother signed as a schoolboy, and all except one (a wba fan) of my extended family are Villa. I also saw my first game at Villa park, but that was before I moved to the shire as a boy.

Possibly the only place where the accent of your fellow supporters is even more grating and uneducated than Sixfields.
