Do keyboards in Gillingham not have any punctuation keys?

Hi gills fan here I have been following you since jed took over and he did to you what he did to us took us backwards and you seem to follow the same pattern as us up one year down the next with no steady progress I went to the game yesterday and you had a good following but I cant see how you can say the better team won you scored from 2 shots from 25 yards going in of posts  which I cant see you scoring 2 better goals this season you created nothing apart from that you're keeper saved 2 shots very well and we scored one but to say you were the better team I really cant see it if you watch the link below I think its shows a different perspective of the game  maybe I watched a different game or had rose tinted glasses on its funny how 2 sets of fans see 2 different games although at the end of the day its who puts the ball in the net wins end off good luck for the rest of the season see you for the return

Were you the proud owner of any of those sofas and fridges I passed in the front gardens of houses as I walked from the station to the ground yesterday?

My sofa watch reported three but we didn't use the usual route from the railway car park which may have increased that figure.

Didn't go yesterday but I'm pleased to hear that the Gillingham tradition of discarding manky sofas in the street is still going strong. So there were three sofas... how many mattresses?

Saw one sofa and two mattresses.

........................but I cant see how you can say the better team won you scored from 2 shots from 25 yards going in of posts,  who puts the ball in the net wins.

At best two mediocre teams except that Gills were a tad ‘less mediocre’. The real point is we scored two damn good goals; which generally means that on the day we had a little more quality. Its all about opinions - and ne'er the twain shall meet!

I can understand how the Gills fan thought they were the better side. In reality it was a poor game of football between two sides who clearly are low on confidence. They had more of the ball but apart from the two saves Ingram made in the first half he was barely tested. Likewise we didnt really trouble their keeper outside of the two fantastic goals we scored.

I am still not really sure what style we are trying to implement, this game it was a case of get organised and try and hit them on the break.

Thought Pierre and Taylor struggled in the first half with the wind but second half were pretty comfortable. Shaun Mcwilliams did himself proud at RB, Taylor talked him through the game well but you can see him developing which is always good to see. It was good to have JJOT back in the side, he provides a steel that we are desperately lacking in the middle, also won plenty of headers in advanced positions which we needed.
Grimes and Poole put a shift in and tried to pass it but conditions were terrible and in reality we didnt really sustain any real periods of pressure (neither did they).

Long ran his socks off, as did Hoskins. Powell had possibly his best game for us, clearly has power in his shots, looked to cut in and shoot a couple of times. Still want him to go on the outside more and use his pace which he rarely does but still positive signs. Foley looked very handy when he came on, was everywhere and ran with the ball really well. All in all a huge win, hopefully can take some confidence from the result and get another 3 points on Saturday, need to stay with the pack above.

One quick thing though, I still dont fully understand JFH team selections, Waters had his best game for us at Rochdale and then found his way to the bench, also did he come over to the fans at the end of the game? I didnt see him do so but may have missed it. Only minor points after a positive result though.

Just one side point. Why do Cobblers fans abuse ex players (eg. Lee Martin) when they did nothing wrong while playing for us and left the club through no fault of their own? I think it's sometimes counter productive, in Martin's case he seemed to up his involvement in the game. When do we know that any player might not be considered for a return to the club? We gave JJOT quite a lot of abuse at Southend whilst he was out on loan and look what happened after that? He could have decided he maybe shouldn't come back after that game. OK, a bit of banter adds to the atmosphere maybe but is this the best way of achieving vocal support?

To be fair JJOT needed a rocket up his a**e.

I don't know why we do it to nearly everyone. Lee Martin was average in a fantastic season.

Yes, was surprised at the abuse Zakuani received when he came over on his own to applaud us at the end...

JFH went to the corner and shook hands/congratulated the players coming in, by the time he had completed most of us had already left.

Your kidding that Zakuani received abuse for actually coming over and clapping fans? Probably the nicest thing an ex-player can do on the pitch (apart from an O.G) .... Morons.

Not kidding, was quite disappointing actually, he looked sad at the response.

This about sums up a large portion of our fan base unfortunately.

Sad, as Zak gave 110% for us when he played, and if we hadn't found issue with his international appearances then would probably still be here.

I did not notice any abuse hurled at Zakuani, certainly not round me. I didn't recogniize many of the 300 on Sat , plenty of roughnecks tho,  some of whom I haven't seen before. Generally very relunctant to criticize any Cobbler supporter as whether we like it or not they are needed at places like Gillingham. Sorry to learn that Zak suffered some abuse particularly as he came over to applaud.

Good readable article on the game; I understood JFH team selection and tactics on the day and thought they were spot on. I too was surprised at Waters omittance from the starting 11, but thought that Hoskins justified his selection.

False news - its only a relatively small proportion of our support. Games at Stevenage, Pompey, Luton, Mansfield and Coventry during 2015 season attracted more of 'em....bless em'! Don't agree with you on Zak giving 110%, he was either injured and/or on Congo duty. Certainly don't agree he deserved abuse at the week end.

Glad you felt the need to quote me twice.  Grin

So he should have not played for his country or played injured then?
