JFH has confirmed that he intends to make "wholesale changes" for this one.

This might actually play to our advantage. Rather than having our first-teamers out there who are only really interested in the league, we can give the fringe players a go, who are all desperate to impress the manager and will therefore put more effort into it. I'd imagine that the likes of Kasim, Revell, Bowditch and Waters are still of significantly better quality than whatever Southampton U21s can pit against us.

Interesting to note that despite all the moaning and groaning from some fans about the inclusion of the U21 teams, only 2 of the 16 academy sides are actually going to qualify for the Round of 32, with just one set of fixtures left to play.

We need only a draw to qualify.
