Both Edinburgh and Page could only manage 3 games without a goal.....Hasselblank has already managed a four game streak and now a 5 game streak.....
Page......34 games.....10 wins.....8 draws.....16 defeats.......Scored 48......conceded 55......GOALS SCORED PER GAME 1.41 Conceded 1.62 Edinburgh.....26 games.....6 wins....6 draws....14 defeats.....Scored 28.....conceded 44......GOALS SCORED PER GAME 1.08 Conceded 1.69 Hasselbaink....21 games....5 wins.....7 draws.....9 defeats.....Scored 17....conceded 29...... GOALS SCORED PER GAME 0.81 Conceded 1.38
Gut feeling the manager is pants now stats to prove it.... worse than the previous two muppets!

In fairness looking at it, has he actually improved us anywhere yet?

The surprising thing is that anyone would think it would be different with a new manager. They've all been on the same extensive training courses and got the same coaching badges. The absolutely no reason to expect Hasselbank to get a different result from the same players as Edinburgh.

But not able to bring about any significant improvement sums up JFH's tenure to date. Very worrying.

We are more organised than under JED but I would say we are no better going forward . Plus , we have McGugan who JED didn’t have . I would say there has been little improvement overall .

But he’s not getting much of a tune out of mcgugan either to be fair - his fitness must be improving by now but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he leaves in January.

According to Wiki, Long has scored 13 goals from 79 appearances in total. He scored 4 times for Fleetwood (23 appearances) and once for Bolton (10 appearances). And he's the best we've got at the moment! And in Longs case there isn't even mitigation given he's a central forward, not a winger/bit player like Waters or Hoskins.
Im convinced that much of our issue is that we do not have a natural striker fit and ready for this level. People talk about the lack of chances we create, but we still get corners, free kicks etc…by law of averages Long should have latched on to a loose ball by now that comes his way in the penalty area. Not once has he managed that for us. Not once. (the 3 goals he's scored were from assists or nicking the ball off of a defender (Oxford).
Rico and Revell are 'shot to bits' and offer nothing when they start a match.
So to kick on in January and give ourselves a realistic chance of staying in this league the first player we should be looking at signing is a goal scoring striker. Which as we know isn't an easy 'fix'.
Not far behind this we need another one. And a winger. Preferably two.
With those 3 or 4 additions and if our key players are available we should comfortably stay up in my opinion.
If we go for cheap loan options/end up with a Keshi Anderson 'type' we could well end up in league2 come May.
January will provide us with a clear sign as to what our financial clout is. I'm lead to believe its pretty healthy, but time will tell.

Affirmative to Drilling's comments but JFH also needs as a priority in December to get the midfield balance right. At present from what I can see with JFH's preferred starting 11 only JJOT is a ball winner and he is having an injury prone season. McWilliams should be his automatic replacement. A tackle from any of Crooks, Grimes, Powell and McCugan is a rare event and that is why we keep losing the midfield battle every match but kid ourselves about these players who each show the occasional flash of class. But one swallow doesn't make a summer. JFH has not been helped by injuries but he shows no sign of being able to get the balance right.

Lack of width and pace is the main problem that this team has.
Sign a few proper wide players and another striker or two, and things will look very different.

Goals conceded per game has gone down.
Good shout. Take the 6-0 out of the equation and it would look even better.

Crooks, Grimes, Powell and McCugan have all made contributions notably against Oxford; of those 4 players Grimes and Crooks have made at times reasonable "tackles". The other two less so. Not saying your judgement is wrong but it does appear to be supportive in the way it is expressed to enhance your claim. Yes/No?

Of course it is supportive of what I am saying otherwise why would I have bothered to comment? You quote the Oxford match as an example of when our midfield clicked but has there been any other? To repeat, JFH has not found the right balance. It reminds me of the arguments that used to circulate about playing Gerrard and Lampard in the same England team. It never worked and that is a fact. At a lesser level we face the same problem with Grimes, Crooks & McCugan.

I'm not sure if any manager in world football could find an ideal attack/midfield balance with the personnel JFH has had at his disposal in the last 3-4 games.

Why do people struggle so much with player names.
Brendan Maloney being a prime example, it's Moloney.
Seems the new one is Lewis McCugan, it's McGugan guys.

I don't think we'd be on as many as 19 points without JFH and I'm not sure any manager could've done better with our unbalanced and impotent squad. Although some of his decisions have baffled me.
The next 5 games are crucial and if we can someone scrape 5 or 6 points it might give us half a chance.
I can't see us being a very attractive proposition given our position and there is a likelihood that we will be back in League 2 next season.

Very difficult to prove and you could go either way based on the stats!! It's of course impossible to say a would have done better than b.....the fact is b has done what he's done!! based on the stats alone they "suggest" that we'd have been two points worse off under JED than we are under JFH.......improvement? Very slight!! WE are scoring less goals but are conceding fewer too.....so its swings and roundabouts. As for what we've seen on the pitch, workrate has increased in the main, but is not showing many more benefits....we're still losing games, scoring fewer goals than ever, and dropping down the table. There are been signs of progress but they seem to be extinguished as soon as they poke their heads out of the ground. Based on the last three managers, statswise they've all been much of a muchness. Page got more points than the other two, Page got more goals than the other two, but Page didn't have the luxury of spending a load of money on his players or having had a load spent (in the case of JFH). Speaks volumes that the side that came up from League 2, missing the players that we lost (Holmes, Adams to name two) outperformed JED's side, and JFH's side. Something is really wrong here.....or is it just coincidence that three managers haven't been able to make us click?? There is no guarantee that we'll get what we need in January, if we do get what we need on paper there's no guarantee that they'll all perform (which is what we hoped would happen after the summer recruitment), and no guarantee that things will improve. However there's no gurantee that things won't get better either...we'll just have to wait and see.........won't we?
