On Saturday , McGugan , Crooks and Pierre need to step up .
We haven’t seen any of them perform to their reputation yet .
Let’s hope Powell is fit because we have to use his pace .
McWilliams or Poole need to play the holding role .
Long needs support and we have to play to feet .
If these things happen , we have a chance .

What formation/team would you play?

I think the following are unavailable, Phillips, Revell, JJOT, Pierre plus those two world beaters out on loan  Tongue

I would go:-

              Ingram
Moloney Poole Taylor Buchanan
Powell McWilliams Grimes Smith
        Waters Long

(If Powell doesn't make it, McWilliams right wing, Poole CM and Barnett CB)

Subs
Cornell
Barnett
Hanley
Richards
McWilliams
Hoskins
McGugan

And ive completely forgotten Crooks (who my son has on the back of his shirt),  see it is a tough job we have a lot of midfielders to wade through.

I wouldn't play McWilliams on the right (I think JE or Page did) otherwise we risk him just becoming a jack of all trades, I want to see him in the middle.

Would be great to see Waters get another run out up top (with a partner bigger than 5ft).

I agree he is a CM

but needs must until January. Aside from Powell, i think he is the person could do the most direct job of getting down the wing and getting the ball in the box.

I must admit i do seem to have a difference of opinion to most on here.   Id really like to see Revel playing up top with Long.  He gets a lot of criticism on here, nut he has only ever played up on his own, or with Richards who is less mobile than he is!

Be interesting to see what JFH preferred formation is, if he was starting from scratch, as opposed to making the most out of the players he has.

For me as talented (or not) as some players are we seem to have a fair few players who either don't really have a definite position, or cant fit into many systems. Those being for me,

Crooks, Foley, Hoskins, Waters, Bowditch,

He's out injured for a while so striking options are:

Long, Rico and Waters at the minute, plus Hoskins when fit.

In case anyone missed it, Bury have appointed Chris Lucketti as their new manager, who was formerly the assistant manager at.... Sc***horpe. He has seen us three times in the past month, so he will have a pretty good idea of how we play. Hard fought draw is what I'm predicting

Big day today, let's get behind the lads from the off and hopefully they can repay our noise with some goals and a win.

Loads of snow up here, so cannot see many
Bury fans making the trip.

Even more important we fans get behind the team.

..................Ingram............
Moloney..Taylor..Pierre..Buchanan
...........Grimes..McGugan..........
...................Crooks.................
Waters.........Long............Powell

But, if we go without Rico we need to stop going with long hoofs from goal kicks as we won’t win any without Rico or JJOT.

If Powell not fit then I’d go with

....Grimes....Crooks....McGugan...
.................Waters.................
.............Long.....Rico..............

No ball winner amongst those, would be a very brave (or stupid) decision to play without one based on our play this season.

Just seen Powell coming out of the gym next to the Walter Tull which suggests that he is still not fit despite us being told that he was in the frame for last weeks match.

That is a shame, we will be narrow today so must look to Grimes/McGugan/Crooks to create and get balls into the box for Long (and a partner maybe?).
