From memory, the chances of scoring from a counter attack are so minimal and heavily outweighed by conceding from the corner, you're better off packing your box with bodies.
I'm sure I've read the opposite to be honest. Despite fan's reaction for every opportunity, corners have a very low conversion %.
From my mind it makes more sense to leave shorter players further up the pitch. They offer little protection from a corner in the box, and by doing so you force the opposition to leave players (usually defenders) back.
