Its still worrying to me that it sounds like jimmy stated again at the meeting that we created more chances on Saturday than they did - the question Id ask is how many saves did their keeper have to make and in the second half Ingram made 3 good/great saves to prevent them from winning the game.

Can't hide from the stats. The Experimental 361 expected goals stats has us struggling in nearly every department.

https://twitter.com/experimental361/status/934812289437454336

The goal difference by far the worst in the league at -17.

At the end of the day though, as Jimmy knows full well being an ex hot-shot striker, it's a goals that win games and transitions, overloads etc mean naff all when you can't hit the net. (goals for joint lowest in league).

Interesting stats. Clearly our problem is not about poor finishing. The issue is that we're simply not having enough shots on goal, which points to a wider systemic problem.

Of course, the lack of width which JFH's less than illustrious predecessor left with him is largely to blame for our lack of change creation. I'd say we need an assist king like Nicky Adams even more than we need a clinical finisher.

Looking at the League 2 stats, there is a bloke at Wycombe who features highly in the assist and goal scoring stats, should we give him a try  Smiley

As I recall, Adams couldn't get in the team at the end of that season.

Funny because I thought the same thing but a quick google shows he started in our last 10 games of the season (didn't go back further) and was subbed off in the 2nd half in every game.

I could be wrong... But think Martin was brought in as an improvement on Adams (with league one in mind?). But Martin was sent packing due to a questionable attitude, so Adams came back into the lineup for the easiest close to a season in footballing history.
