I'm much more a fan of Moloney than Buchanan and know which one I'd keep. I was really happy to see Smith given a chance yesterday, a bit surprised that he got MOM but he definitely deserves a run in the team.
Your comment about players not cut out for a relegation scrap is spot on, who apart from JJ do we have for battling our way out of this mess?
I thought Smith was dreadful yesterday, nowhere near his man for their goal and skinned time after time down their right hand side - Totally out of his depth! How the hell he was awarded MOM was a total mystery

We laughed when smith was named mom by sponsors kg Smith, must be a family connection somewhere cos he was poor. I'm sorry to say it but both great servants to the club Maloney and buchs are perhaps not cut out for this level anymore. Maloney is slower and doesn't get half the crosses he used to and Buchs gets beat more and more down the flank. Cannot fault their passion or desire , but they need replacing in my opinion. they are part of a defence that has been one of the worst weve had recently

See Lincoln have signed Danny Rowe on loan from Ipswich...highly rated while at Macc....could have done a job for us i reckon...and he's a winger
Let's see who we can attract...think JFH going down the experienced route by his post match comments yesterday (Densley - Howson - LOL!)

If that's the first signing I won't be getting excited about the rest of the window.

FFS he cant even get in Southend's team, why would he get in ours. I don't think we have any money to spend, only what we free up in terms of wages.

Maybe we can see what he's like before judging him? Perhaps not...

What’s the point in bringing in another midfield player , unless he plays wide naturally ?

This seems to go exactly against what JFH said post match saturday. He said he wanted more experience in the side (which struck me as odd as we have loads of that) and that the players would be involved against Southend. This seems to tick neither box.

Not a lot of negative opinions on him though, jury seems to be out. Theres been plenty of players we have let go in the past that havent been faniced, yet they have done really well elsewhere so wouldnt write him off. What I am concerned about is that JFH said he isnt looking for any more centre mids and where as I think he should be looking for one, Bridge isnt going to be the leader/experienced head we need...

5 minutes of football this season......and presumably won't be able to play on Saturday anyway as its against his former club.

The issue we have is that we don't get full control on how news of the signings are announced. Seems a crazy signing, however if 25 of our current midfielders are being terminated for gross misconduct following crimes against football, then it may make more sense.

The Chinese probably want their money back to invest in Hinkley Point instead.
