Well it looks like pereira is nailed on - from what I can gather he is a right back/right winger - and this Facey from Man City sounds possible but it looks like he’s also a right back (it says he’s also a centre back but I can’t see it as he’s only 5ft 8”). How many right backs do we need - I thought moloney was ok on Monday, isn’t the main issue the other side? Hopefully we’re reserving the Chinese millions for a proven striker!

If my memory serves me right I'm sure Facey  played as a centre back for NYC . It was in their first season in the MLS and he certainly didn't look out of place. As he is on a season long loan to Herenveen in the Dutch prem, not sure why he would come here.

Bloody Wilder didn't play him and then let him go. Awful manager.

Hardly bothered with Calvert-Lewin who now starts most games for Everton. That manager had no idea how to recognise talent...

Jack Bridge has also played a mighty 6 games in his entire professional career, 4 of which came at Chelmsford, if this is the experience we are signing we are truly fooked.

Perhaps yr memory is playing up ; he is only 5’ 8”  and unlikely to be in Central defence. Perhaps a deep lying midfielder 🤣

His loan at Herenveen was for the 2016-17 season?

I like Buchanan, he has a footballing brain and I would certainly say if the rest of the squad put in the same effort, determination and passion we would not be in our current position - however he has now struggled on a number of occasions and unfortunately I think it might be time for a change.

Can't fault Buchanan's passion and effort, and he was excellent in the promotion season. However IMO he hasn't been up to it for some time, not only this season, but also at times last season. A left back would be my priority in the window, after that a pacey winger, physically strong, experienced centre back and a leader in the middle of the park.

Spot on. He has been fantastic for us as a whole, but this season has been poor. Whilst some of it can be put down to the lack of protection our midfield has offered, a lot of the time the attacks that have led to goals have come from his side and I don't think JFH is wrong if he gives Smith a run of games.

Hopefully the rest will do Buchs could and he'll come back stronger, or JFH will sign another LB.

Surprised two of the most inform strikers are available for 'only' £300K (Doyle being the other). And with last years in-form striker, James Vaughan, being made available on the cheap too.

Sorry, have I missed where it's said that the Chinese investment will take us to the next level? Genuine question.

I think that the problem is that people’s expectations (mine included I’m not afraid to admit) have been raised to an unrealistic extent due to KT saying that the Chinese were making funds available for the window and then other people hinting that they have heard that considerable money was in place. In reality it looks like this money may be in place for “high calibre” loanees and possibly paying off some of the bloated squad that we have - I hope we are placing cash bids for quality players/strikers but it seems to be unlikely.

Doyle has a blot clot apparently so whoever signs him will not be able to play him any time soon, hope he recovers soon.
