I honestly thought Revs was going to rate up at JFH there !
It wasn’t a very warm handshake when he came off that’s for sure !
Time for him to move on though

With Revels reaction, after scoring , doubt Jimmy will pick him again

What did he do?

Right-winger, Left-back? Other than a striker to compete with Long I'm unsure where exactly we'd be looking to reinforce now.

His description sounds too similar to Hanley for me. Small and lightweight, similar ages, both with premiership sides, and both played age group football for England.
Doesn't sound like the type of player we are going to need over the next four months. Hope I'm wrong.

That's one hell of a start. No competitive football in 12 months, and he leaves the pitch as man of the match. Looked very tidy in possession and positional play seemed spot on too. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come and not because Sarfend were crap!

I'd like an expiranced leader of a centre half (similar mould to Clarke Carlisle) another tough tackling midfielder and two forwards to replace Richards and Revell. (One of the hanson mould the other a quick pacy goal scorer).

Still to go out Hanley,  Kasim,  Richards,  Revell as a min

Whoever said he was lightweight got that wrong. The physical likeness with Hanley is incorrect. He has decent size and decent pace for his position. (a lot quicker and more direct than Brendan). We had a discussion in the stand about him, and the consensus seemed to agree with you. For me he did little wrong without actually excelling. Did he get mixed up playing back to Ingram first half? I was too far away to tell.
One hell of a start?.. Hmmm. I'd argue that's a correct description of the 30 mins Hilda played, I saw the good and a little of the bad in him, but Shay... nah not for me. A good debut without being standout, but a welcome addition nonetheless.

And as you say, little first team football for him in the last 12/24 months, why's that then? Was he on a too good a contract and happy not to, has he been injured? I've no idea but would be interested to know.

OK let's see what the boy plays like, with only 6 games under his belt including 3 for the Dutch club (he picked up 2 bookings and a red card in those games) I just don't think he's what we need at the moment.

Pereira is your right winger - when (if) Powell is back he’ll be left and berto right. When we look bothered and confidence is up we don’t look too bad (Blackburn, Wigan and today) but as we know recently a good performance is then followed by 2/3 poor ones. Who we look to bring in will depend on how far away Pierre and Barnett are from fitness, if they are going to be missing for any length of time we’ll need another cb - good though Facey was at rb I wouldn’t want him at centre back. I’m still not convinced with the balance of the midfield but we’ve got McWilliams who is more than capable at cmf. I don’t like John-joe playing as a forward/number 10 so a good striker/forward would obviously be the priority. My one big concern with bringing more players in is that it gives jimmy more potential to keep tinkering with the lineup - we need to get an effective starting 11 and stick to it.

Firstly I think Southend are the worst team I've seen in L1 however I thought the boy had a decent game, first 20 mins a bit ropey thereafter he was OK and got better.
Let's see how he gets on against Bradford.
For me the problem is on the other side Buchs was dreadful again today.

I'd like to see someone come in that can play up top with Long, so we can get JJOT back in midfield. We need a destroyer who will win the ball.  When was the last time Crooks or Grimes won a crunching tackle? Don't bother thinking, it's never happened.
