Perhaps this was one of the behind the scenes issues that needed/needs resolving...
Now Buchs has tweeted this, something official needs to come out of the club...
All very bizzare as he's certainly not worth a new contract imo...
I follow him and I haven’t seen him say that

Despite Saturday isn’t Turnbull predominantly a centre back?
Yes, he is.

Perhaps Bunney is being signed to play higher up the field. As a left winger or even striker. Rochdale fans rate him going forward but not so much defensively.
I think that could be the case. He's top of their assist stats and we need width in midfield.

There maybe a fair bit of merit to this

Buchs is NOT our long term left back solution. Continually done for in both pace and strength. JFH can see it and is addressing it.

For what it's worth I agree - he's getting sussed out by oppositions who are starting to expose his lack of height at the far post. You can't dispute that he is a warrior who puts his body on the line for us but he's not the future.

Have you not worked wiki out yet 78? Unless it was you who vandalised it?
Nope, not a clue. Watch this space I guess. The club will have to announce something about Buchs triggering a 12 month contract extension though, surely?

Considering you only deal in facts, I'm suprised you resort to conjecture.

Maybe someone found a treasure chest in a hastily buried shallow plot in the locality of Sixfields? Church Brampton I heard?

Buchs had his contract automatically extended. NTFC are disputing it or keeping it quiet as they want him out. Not good press to announce contract extension followed by immediate sale/release as it shows incompetence somewhere in the ranks. Buchs is being stubborn and not going anywhere without a decent pay off. Nobody is going to pay him as much as we do.
I reckon.

How can a contract be “automatically extended” ? Unless the chairman has done it without the knowledge of the manager . Seems a strange situation to me that the club didn’t publicise the resigning . The situation on Saturday was very odd as well with Turnbull playing left back . Buchs clearly wants to stay from his tweet last night . Someone needs to talk straight here ( which JFH doesn’t do )

course he wants to stay - he wont get an 18 month contract on the same money anywhere else.
he can sit in the stands with kasim and bowditch and earn a pretty penny doing f*** all.

Sorry still can’t find where he says something official needs to come out from the club. When did he say that?

A clause in his existing contract. i.e. appearance based. Nobody needs to sign anything for it to become active, the clause already exists and it is automatically triggered should the terms of the clause be met. Quite possible that nobody realised/remembered it was there, thus it being pretty embarrassing (and not wanting publicity) if it was overlooked.
