I seem to remember Eric Sabin playing for Boston one week, and then suddenly he was in our team...to play Boston.

needs to move on a few more than just those 5 i would think.

needs a manageable amount of players in the squad.

pay a few off / loan a few out and hope a couple get offers elsewhere - DB or AR or SH

Nearer the window closure gets, teams will become desperate for signings...

Just depends if any of the deadwood has any ambitions to play or just to sit on their contracts...

Think kee would be fine as we have people who create now, people wanted marquis and collins to stay but there league 1 record isn't really outstanding.

Need a more mobile Rico who can finish!

I'd guess they'd like...

2 goalkeepers to move, 1 being either Cornell or Coddington and then Goff on loan somewhere with a recall clause.

1 of the left backs to move, either Buchs permanent or Smith on loan.

I would have said they might send Poole back and move a right back on but with Pierre and Phillips being out for the majority of the season maybe not.

Obviously everyone is expecting the 5 you mentioned to move, hopefully just a loan for Iaciofano though.

That would be 8 out plus the 4 that have gone already. I thought at the start they needed to get 5 or 6 more out than they brought in so in the right ballpark.

Personally I'd like to see how Long performs with more threatening wingers in the team. He's got 7 so far, he could add 10 to that in the remainder of the season, with the bump in quality around him. I think we'd have all took 17 from him at the start of the season.

Of course, if we can get equivalent to Long or better on a permanent that would be great, would much rather have our own players out there as much as possible.

It wouldn't surprise me if we signed Long. He's out of contract and I cannot see Burnley wanting to retain him. For them to get a fee they would have to offer him a new deal the equivalent or better than what he's on so would risk the chance of getting zero £ for him OR having him on their wage bill for another x years.

I predict we will buy him for an undisclosed fee and the final piece of the jigsaw will be another striker on loan.

Weirdly, I noticed that Dyche accidentally mentioned Long in his press conference last week. It was a slip of the tongue when he meant to refer to Kevin Long.

I wondered if Chris was on his mind because we'd stuck a bid in!

Strong looking squad with 2 good players in every position and some flexibility too. Think if you remove Phillips and Pierre as long term injurees, then move Poole in to CB, it still looks good. Plenty of decent players will miss out on the match day squad. Be interesting to see who JFH goes with tomorrow... might get a better idea of who's moving on.

Think itll be:

GK: ODonnell
RB: Facey
LB:Bunney
CB: Taylor
CB: Turnbull
CM: Grimes
CM: Crooks
AM: O'Toole
LW: Powell
RW: Ariyibi
(or Periera RW if fit and Ariyibi LW)
ST: Long

2 of the following to miss out: Moloney, Poole, Foley, Hoskins, Pereira/Powell, Revell, McWilliams and Buchs

And that all of our loans used up now so perhaps a permanent striker in now? Signing Long isnt a bad shout though... depends if he'll want to knowing direct competition is being bought in.

It’s a good shout on Long signing permanently .
He has improved week on week under JFH and deserves an offer if we could afford him .
Dychey loves the Cobblers as well
