To bring in another two strikers is a big ask , especially as at least one will have to be a permanent signing .
It also suggests Revell is staying put if he wants 4 options .
It would be interesting to know who he’s after . I can’t see Van Veen coming if he is starting for Scunny.
Still no sign of any dead wood going though - hardly surprising .

I suppose it depends on how much legwork we’ve put in and whether these 2 strikers and their clubs are prepared to make a decision. I can still see a lot of activity taking place as teams start to panic so there may be a possibility of some mug going for kasim/bowditch/Hanley.

Why is it a big ask?

I would think jimmy gas a list of 5 or 6 his been working on for weeks.

I'd be amazed if we didn't bring 2 in and would still be suprised if revs stays.

Recent results might convince potential signings we are not bound for League Two after all.

Van Veen went off with a foot injury yesterday too, unsure how serious though...

No inside knowledge but I'm pretty sure Jimmy will bring in the two strikers he wants. Strikers are always the last ones in the door as they are so in demand. No doubt just the name JFH will entice a better quality of striker than we would usually attract. The Chinese money helps too!

Would not surprise me if he brings in another defender too...

Hopefully, the desperate teams will come in for some of our deadwood, or their agents can find them a club before the deadline

L1 must be the toughest league for many a season, so we need some more quality before the deadline.

Exciting few days ahead hopefully!

It’s pretty obvious why it’s a big ask I would have thought .
There’s three days left to get two quality strikers in when Jimmy has quite clearly struggled to get commitment
Up until now .
That’s not to say we can’t do it , but to beat everyone else to two players will be tough .
Let’s see what happens , bearing in mind at least one has to be a full signing not a loan

1 permanent striker and 1 loan striker being worked on, that's for sure.

The loan striker will be easy to complete, I'd imagine that is why they haven't done it yet, no rush to get it through. All efforts being concentrated on a deal for the perm fella.

Will be interesting to see which loan player misses out on the match day squad each week if we bring a loan striker in. I guess it will be a loan striker or winger depending on who is fit and available that week.

Must be a tough sell to bring someone on loan who might not even make the bench!

How do you know he is struggling to get commitment?

For all we know the deal(s) maybe done, maybe we are waitying on other factors like the club the player(s) are coming from sorting a replacement?

As people of already said for strikers especially these deals often take longer because demand is higher, in fact i wouldn't be siprised if the signings didn't happen until Wednesday.

I would be extremly shocked if we didn't have two new strikers through the door come midnight on Wednesday, no idea who or when, but I'm certain we will.

I still think Poole may go back, if we can bring another centre half in

Whatever we do it would be a mistake to drop Chris Long at the moment.

I have been thinking this for most of the month to be honest but I was surprised that JFH only mentioned 2 strikers and not another Centre Back. All smoke and mirrors I'd guess.

True, but the boy needs competition as he has zero at the moment.

We also need different options and ability to change a game from the bench in the final third providing different options.

Unless this is being negotiated in the background and Utd have another club lined up for Poole, we could put some noses out of joint (and screw the player a little bit) by sending him back just before the window closes.

Not that we're playing him every week ourselves, mind you!

I think that’s the crux of the situation, we have found an effective way of playing which involves Long as a lone striker with jjot supporting him - both of them are in great form and scoring goals. As such trying to persuade prospective strikers to join us (especially on loan) when they are unlikely to be starting must be a difficult sell. It’s a similar scenario to the one that pereira finds himself in - he’s unlucky that since he’s come in we’ve dramatically picked up our form and the structure that we have in place (foley and Hoskins in wide areas) is working. Having said that I would be very surprised if pereira doesn’t replace Hoskins this Saturday.

I think Berto is the type of player we can probably start v the lower performing teams but against the top sides when we need to be more compact then he needs to start on the bench.
