Good to see the Trust make an application to make Sixfields an Asset of Community Value.
It's not a foolproof process but should add a layer of protection to the ground if successful.
The whole thing may be slightly more difficult due to the leasehold/freehold rights to the stadium but I'm sure they've looked into that.
Only have to look down the road to Kettering to see the significance of who owns the land under a football pitch.

I thought that that was talked about a while ago and had already been done?

It's been talked about for a while, and we've actually made several applications stemming back from a few months without hearing back from the council. The latest application was physically handed to the council leader, Jonathan Nunn, in a meeting the Trust held with the council a few weeks back.

What is the Clubs view of the application ? Must admit that i have'nt given it too much consideration if its a good or bad thing to have. What do the supporters think as a whole ?

Kelvin knows about it and has absolutely no problems with it. I can only see it as being a good thing myself, it gives it extra protection from development and effectively helps to keep it as a sports stadium. IF it is granted, that is.

Do we know the boundaries of protection for the stadium or does it just include the green stuff? Could this back fire and give an easy future excuse for those in charge with but unwilling/unable to build up our stadium?

I am glad this has finally been done as I've been banging on about it for a while. This will keep the applicants aware of any changes and potential sale of Sixfields as a matter of obligation.
It will however need to be accepted as An Asset of Community Value. Judging by the NBC records that are easily searchable there has never been an application received and either accepted or rejected previously on Sixfields. Indeed there's precious little on it.

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet
