I think you will find the thread title is “Blackburn Rovers h 2pm “ not “ the career and suitability of David Cornell “
He had a good game - give him credit and leave your vendetta at home .

I have no vedentaa against him or anyone else, my opinion is just he is simply not good enough for league 1 football. We have too many fans that settle for that and will clap the team off when we lose 5-0 giving zero effort.

The reality is we have 6 or 7 in our squad that simply are not good enough!

As I said above if he did perform well yesterday then credit where it's due, I wasn't there so couldn't comment fully. What I saw on tv is he came steaming out when the bloke took it round him and missed an open goal and it was a poor challenge for the pen. As I said on another we lose 3-1.

As I have also said Jimmy knows his not good enough too, which is why someone else will be in goal come early jan.

Having seen the highlights - I wonder if those criticising Cornell will pick on McGugan in the same way because his defending for the goal was appalling. Couldn’t be bothered comes to mind .
Cornell looked a little unlucky on the penalty decision - he didn’t quite time it right but their player was looking for it .
Having also seen the highlights, no I wouldn't pick on McGugan, the ball was played around him. If I was apportioning blame, more would be directed at Taylor for a poor headed clearance and some at Poole for a weak challenge on the edge.
I also stand by what I said at the time, that it was a rash challenge from Cornell for the pen regardless of any contact being made. He would still get the shirt ahead of Goff and Coddington in Ingram's absence if I were selecting because his allround game is good, but he seems incapable of getting through a game without gifting the opposition a chance.

I think we are fortunate to have a reserve keeper as good as Cornell

I'm not disputing the fact he is OK for a No.2. But to say that performance yesterday was excellent is laughable. Also an insult to the players that played well in Taylor and Foley.

Very good performance from all the players yesterday. Particular praise goes to Cornell, Taylor, Moloney and Foley. But what about some of those blocks Buchanan put in...unsung hero.

So you weren’t at the game but still dish out the criticism to a player you didn’t see perform .
Say no more .....

I didn't hear it in the post match interview but the football league paper has quoted JFH as saying that Ingram will be fit for Boxing Day.

Yes because I have had both reports from the game and seen the highlights. This is my opinion as I say. Another day Cornell costs us 2 goals and the point

A Blackburn bloggers view from behind their goal: Foley definitely put the ball into the net for us and their player was already going down for their penalty before Cornell got to him.
The bit from 11:20 at the end of the game and Cornell's 'antics' towards the Rovers fans is worth a watch...
