Its been apparent for ages that they don't have the desire for it. Theres clearly factions within the squad that are against the management, and that team spirit isn't great. The squad is too big, thats the first point. The 2nd point is that they think they are far better than they are.
After the Bury game (0-0) I heard Grimes being interviewed, claiming that they had played well. I found that very concerning. You've then got Long last week doing the shush thing to the fans after he scored in the Walsall match. You've got Taylor having a go at the fans at Oldham, Buchs getting into arguments after a game with fans in the West stand. They all think they are the dogs bollox, Im telling ya!
They seem to be looking for excuses, looking for distractions to take away the onus being on them. Individually its not a problem, can easily be put down to 'passion'. But its a repeating feature this season, can't remember a season like it to be fair in that regard. They are a real 'touchy bunch'!
Like I say, the numbers need to be brought down to a more manageable level very quickly. Bad eggs need to be moved on. JFH needs to be supported financially to enable him to do the recruitment/sales, but if he doesn't create a much more positive environment from it then we are doomed. Collectively there is a real attitude problem in the squad!
i think thats a fair appraisal, they even looked disinterested in the pre match warm up, the performance was probably worse than the effort at Plymouth. I'm off to Portsmouth, but only because I don't like letting mates down when we've already made the arrangements to go, however, I think this could be my last away trip of the season, just cant justify the time, the money or the heartache anymore.
