Or, most of his wins came in the easier games and he was sacked after a run of very hard games (look at his last 10 games if you donít believe me)

I'm not getting into the easy/hard game debate again that you seem to bring up wherever you go. Even if Page's record is better than JED's and JFH's, at the time he had to go. He had completely lost the plot and the dressing room.

I have no inside knowledge on if he had or hadnít lost the dressing room so canít comment. What I can comment on is that our results under Page were better than our results since he left.....I need no more proof that sacking him was a bad call.

Cobbler 78, as you clearly like the stats, here are some more. Rob Page was sacked on the back of a 5-0 defeat, his nineth defeat in 11 matches and after having claimed that the match had been "men against girls", a comment he later rightly apologised for. This was certainly not the comment of a manager who feels backed to the hilt by his team or even in full control of his own emotions. He started on a high, which many have said (and I agree) was largely due to the confidence and momentum carried over from our promotion season. His overall record with us was poor and the fact that his successors' records have unfortunately been even poorer (only so far in JFH's case), does not justify keeping on a manager who was on a clear and pronounced downward spiral. So quoting Page's overall record as the only reason we should have kept him on is simplistic in the extreme.

Generally speaking I agree with you that records, statistics and facts are important, but not taken in complete isolation and that seems to be what you do.

Care to list the 9 teams/games Page lost in his last 11 league fixtures?

Can't you remember C78?
There was one game against a Northern Prem non league side and ten matches against teams in the same division as us.
Not very good was it?

That's a good sensible answer Madrid, but you needn't have bothered. C78's reply below to an earlier post of yours tells you all you need to know about him.

He's a little one dimensional.
My guess is that's why he enjoys jigsaws and games like higher/lower.

I see exactly where you are going 78...

Bradford x 2
Bolton
Sheffield United

Now I would say they are pretty hard games, but the way we played and set up there was no way we were trying to at least have a go at winning a football match and if you play for a draw should that at least not have happened once in 4 games?

Peterborough

Hard game but local derby so league table and harder teams should be irrelevant. Compounded with the abomination of the away match team line up a month before.

Gillingham
Rochdale
Bristol Rovers

Should we not have been beating or at least drawing with one of these teams?

Stourbridge

Even you can't even defend that game, 78

I hear what you're saying. I see it as a couple of below par results and a cup upset, it happens to the best of teams.

A few I say 6 out of 10 we should have got a decent result in. Despite your ridiculous mind, we all know that confindence is the most important thing in football. What makes you think Page could turn it around? Please try and take EVERYTHING into account.

Which 6 and what results were you expecting?

How about you answer my question first?

Because his results against the teams in the fixtures still to come were very good, so no reason why these wouldnít be repeated. Add to this s his record is better than JED and JFH.

Now, about these 6 games?

Not at all, he/she made some very good well though out points, happy to respect, listen and take these points on board (you should try doing the same, I might listen to you then)....even if I donít necessarily agree.

Bet you didn't take them on board.

'his results against the teams in the fixtures still to come were very good'

If I understand this correctly, (he was sacked after playing every team at least once and was on a downward spiral.) because he won 8 games in the first half of the season he would win another 8 games in the 2nd half against the same teams?

Even in our all conquering championship record breaking team we only did the double 8 times.

In those 9 games based on the position we were in the league before (which was 5th!) I think a mix of 6 draws/wins is a reasonable outcome but to lose all 9 (NINE)?!
One of the bradford games, Gills, Rochdale, Bristol Rovers, Stourbridge and at the very least a draw from either Bolton, Sheff or Boro (take your pick!)

You expected to beat Bradford once and B.Rovers away as well as points against Sheffield United and Bolton? Results like that would come from a team aiming for automatic promotion. Youíre wildly optimistic, good for you.

I didn't say that did I? I said decent results in 6 out of the 9 games? SO that could have been a draw away at Bradford and I said a draw against EITHER Sheff, bolton or Boro. ...1 draw against 3 with 2 at home..Optimistic?

You can't misunderstand that, its all there for you. We were 5th!
