Lewis McGugan and Ryan McGiven have been released, the club have announced.
A shame to lose McGugan I think, he was arguably our most creative player at the moment.

It'll be interesting to see what level of club he goes to now he is fitter than he was when he arrived.

Agree technically but didn't look the type of player up for a scrap...which is exactly what we need in our current state...
I'm sure he'll do well for a safe mid table/top end team...

McGivern - not sure I ever saw him play so can't comment.
McGugan - was outstanding v Oxford when given loads of time and space, otherwise just showed flashes of his ability. Very much a luxury we can't afford.

McGivern was only ever going to be cover, so glad we haven't held onto him for no reason.
A shame about McGugan, showed flashes of brilliance despite being half fit but is not perhaps the battler that we need right now.
Wish them both well.

McGiven was a bizarre signing what was the point??? I would have defiantly kept McGugan quality player, just getting fit, was outstanding at Poxford.

His ball to Long at Pompey wasn't too bad either...

Mcgugan is probably the most talented player we've had who I don't care we've released.

Yes, a few substitute appearances and started in FA Cup & Checkatrade.

Very well put. A undoubtedly talented player, but how much impact did he really have? Probably needs another month of games to get up to speed which is a luxury we can't afford.

I would like to know the ins and outs of the McGugan deal . We either took him on at a vastly reduced rate to suit both parties or we basically paid for his rehab and another club to benefit . His one good game was at Oxford where he ran the show but never recreated that . It’s a pity he has gone but not a tragedy . As for McGivern- who would be a pro footballer !

Mcgugan obviously has talent but still doesn't seem fit. Also definitely a luxury player.

The McGugmeister is a huge loss. He was a very tidy player. I've got a very bad feeling about this..

That passed me by, I must have been away.

McGugan will almost certainly come down to cost. He was on a colossal £16k a week at Wednesday. Enough said!!
