Very poor reviews of the lad of the coventry fans site, I will wait to see him before making judgement, but it's not encouraging

Well, if you then release them...kinda!
We released Rod, that didn’t make him a bad player just not what our manager at the time wanted. Maybe it’s as simple as the fact their current manager didn’t sign him and prefers his own signings. Maybe they decided they wanted rid at the end of last season due to his wages? I’d be wary of reviews from Cov fans, he played for them during what was the low point in most of their fans life time, I doubt they have much good to say about most of their side last year. As has been said he was Swindon’s player of the year in league one so there must be something there. As ever with any signing you will find good and bad reviews, why a number of people seem so desperate to write off every player, even before we’ve signed them is beyond me.

Wasnt Kassim also one of Swindons former players of the year? Just asking.

I don't think Kasim can be judged on the few performances he has played for us , I still think there must be a player in there somewhere. A number of scouts have watched him and rated him very highly.

Didn't Ash Taylor get poor reviews from Aberdeen fans? He's turned out ok, just check out the POTS.

Turnbull executed a 'get out' clause in the summer as he wanted away from Coventry. This may account for their fans reactions to the lad.

Worst defender they've had since Diamond if memory serves correct.

I think he was, around the time he was linked with some prem clubs. Makes you wonder if it a belief/attitude issue with Kasim, or maybe he’s the sort that needs 5 or so games to hit a rhythm, who knows. It all just goes to show that pre-judging any player is pointless. Different managers want different things from players/roles, players sometimes gel better with different team mates on the pitch. It’s not an exact science, if it was every club would nail every signing. Some were disappointed we signed Facey because of his lack of experience, we’re now strongly linked to a player who has decent experience but we’re seemingly determined to prove he’s a bad signing before he’s confirmed.

From compulsive googling it looks like there’s no fee unless sold on and we were looking at him in Summer too, so pre Jimmy

Does that mean he's a Melville special?

We all know that Melville doesn’t sign players don’t we? He’s basically a chief scout, the manager has full say on signings. Jimmy might ask him to identify a new striker for example and Melville will provide a list of targets and reports and the manager will possibly go after one, even under this scenario I’d imagine the manager would still take a look himself.
I’ve no idea if Melville is any good at his job or not, who knows what gems he may have identified that our managers didn’t want. I really don’t think he is the root of all our problems post Wilder, the managers we’ve had probably are where we should look!

You haven't been to the last 6 games or more. You are a Swindon Supporter; now that the great Matt Taylor is now with them I dont' blame you.

No argument from me there but he’s not forcing these signings onto our managers
