Good luck & thanks Rico...makes total sense and he should never have been given an extension into this season...

Will get a L2 club soon enough i reckon...

Consistently the best centre forward I have seen at the Cobblers since my first game in 2000. Top quality player and always seemed like a good pro too.

Very sorry to see him leave.

If Wikipedia is to believed he made 192 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 63 times. A ratio of almost exactly 1 goal every 3 games.

Shame we couldn't have had him for the entirety of his career! I think his next move will be the first time he's been lower than Cobblers in the league.

Wish him well going forward. Just a shame we couldn't have kept him until Oxford....

Would say he is a proper town legend.. Sad to see him go but I think the time is right. Someone lower down will snap him up for sure.

Wish him all the best

Served the club well, but should have left in the summer.

That goal against Sheffield Utd was an off the seat moment! Best of luck to him

A fantastic player and a superb ambassador for the club, not least in captaining us to success through our financial problems and on to title glory a couple of years back.

In many ways I'm sad to see him go, but equally he probably should have been released last year and left on a high, rather than have our last memories of him in a Cobblers shirt being of him labouring a little this season. Still, whatever, easy to say with hindsight - he'll always be remembered as a Cobblers legend.

Good luck Rico, a proper club legend.

Shouldn't of come down to this, we should have got him into a coaching role in the summer or allowed him to move on then.

Either way a great servant to the club and will always be remembered fondly.

I wasn't convinced at first about him coming back for a second stint. In fact, some friends of mine often remind me of quote i made about him only scoring against lower teams in L2. I was actually accurate in the quote during the promotion season as he only scored against teams below us.

Some superb memories though such as the Oxford winners and 4 goals at Macclesfield. However as much as everyone mentions that goal at Hull; this moment was bittersweet for me as my over enthusiastic goal celebration ended up with me being kicked out the ground after 3 minutes.

If he's going to play elsewhere at a lower level, all the best to him. If not and we haven't tried to retain him in some coaching or ambassadorial job then its a shame.

Been a great player for our club over the years and deservedly got a league championship on his cv with us for his efforts.
All good things come to an end but I think looking back he probably deserves legendary status.

As jimmy says he’s welcome back anytime and he will surely get a decent reception.
I just hope we don’t have to face him anytime soon...,
You just know the script!!
Farewell and good luck rico
You’re a good un

Still fit and sharp enough to do a job for a L2 team. Right decision by all. Hope he scores a few for his new team and go on to coach/manage one day.

Another one from THAT season gone. Good luck Marc. Would have liked a chance to say goodbye.
