Would have liked to have had a similar number going the other way...

Quite simply, the majority of these players wouldn't have signed if we had a different manager. The pull of a world renowned player has been critical this window

We must have spent a serious amount of cash (in fees and wages etc). Hopefully it's enough to keep us up and then press on next year!

I don't think Buchanan has any future at Sixfields. Despite JFH's pleasantries concerning Buchs as a man, he doesn't rate him for his team at all. Buchanan has been found out big time: slow and ponderous down the left, (in a squad aiming for pace), which to a certain extent he was when he came here from PNE, in a league above. It will be interesting to see who comes in for him, now or in the summer: Rochdale wont take him despite his roots there; if Bury or Oldham go down to L2, then perhaps, otherwise it will be non-league for him, a good person to have around the changing room, but an expensive one.

Yep, agreed. Jimmy must be the key factor here. We're lucky to have him.

Yes, also agree. There is no way we would have got the current batch of quality signings with Rob Page or JED. JFH has certainly gone up in my estimation. Just got to play them in the right position now.

Quite often in January players are signed who are either bought in to keep us up that season or to help push us over the line. They have always felt like that were brought in for a short term fix. This feels different. With the exception of the loans, the new players feel like he is building next years team already so hopefully we can have the team together for the rest of this season with only a couple of tweeks over the summer to be able to hit the ground running next year. Just need to make sure we do that job this season but first time since Wilder left I've felt this confident with the setup

I would say we are also paying agents fees now which hasn’t always been the case at the club.

While Jimmy's also brought in some young English players as well, this must be the most international a Cobblers squad has ever been.

I think the important thing to note is the foreign players have all played in England before.

Pre-January, all I personally wanted was a couple wingers and a goalkeeper. Maybe an extra striker being a being greedy.
I think KT has succeeded in his 'under promise/over deliver' mentality, and we have had one of the most successful windows in recent history. It looks like JFH secured every target he wanted, added much needed balance and options plus managed to ship out as many as he managed to bring in.
Really looking forward to the rest of the season (and optimistic for next season!)
On a side note, did McGugan end up anywhere?
