Chap in front of me to Whalley:

"I hope you break your legs"

and to Bunney when Whalley was on the ball:

"'it 'im Bunney, 'it 'im noowww"

Much eye rolling from yours truly. Roll Eyes

The guy in the north stand shouting out all these lines several times throughout the course of the match.

"Shrewsbury you will always be League 2"
"Shrewsbury you are a mickey mouse club"
"Shrewsbury you are a joke"
"Shrewsbury you are 5h!t"

The guys nearby responding

"No, they might be Championship next season, definitely league one for another season"
"If they are mickey mouse what are we?"
"If they are a joke what are we?"
"Can we be 5h!t as well"

I am glad he got it off his chest, obviously on his mind, but I doubt if the front two rows of the north would of even heard him let alone the sensitive ears of the Shrewsbury fans or players.

If you go to a few away games like Oxford and Luton 2 years ago just as two examples you may hear a lot worse. The samples quoted above are pretty tame and a lot less aggressive.

Nothing to do with the aggressive nature. More the ridiculous nature of his statements. Just a laugh listening to the responses without there being any hostility.

"            "    and    "           ".

On Friday someone might shout something though, probably with the the veins in their fat neck bulging and spittle showering from their tooth shy mouth.

It wasn't good to hear a lot of the 'abuse' on Saturday.

I'm not one to shy away from some shouting but it did wind me up a bit when the game was still in the balance. The game felt too important so I attempted to sing over a lot of the abuse, as the game went on there was too much though and I gave up. I fully understand the full time reaction though.

Grimes and Van Veen seemed to be those facing the most criticism when in all fairness everyone was pretty much on a par.

Not really; was in the seated stand. Some chanting, one bloke near dugout got very agitated. There was abuse
More in frustration. Bloke behind me got angry😃

Was it that bad?

There wasn't a lot of coordinated 'abuse' but there were plenty of people with steam coming out of their ears with lots of individual shouting scattered around the terrace.

I thought the stick Grimes got was a bit over the top. I don't rate him much and he doesn't help himself with some of his set piece delivery but he definitely seemed to be a scapegoat saturday.

I personally got more annoyed at the amount of times Taylor hoofed the ball out for a goal kick / corner or throw in.

Our standard kick-off routine then?  Grin

At almost every game I get asked the same or a similar question: "who is that dickhead BedsCobb, do you know him?"

Hardly a comment worthy of a moderator, is it? Especially one who likes to pick up on bullying.

In my role as a moderator, I had already sanitised it...
