Don't understand why Cornell has a new contract even if O'Donnell wants too leave. Coddington seems perfect back-up especially in L2 where we need to cut the budget.

I thought Leon Lobjoit & Barnett were under contract for next season, clearly not.

Apparently, Barnett 2nd year (if he agrees to it) will have clauses attached, don't quite know what that means.

Probably an appearance related extension?

I agree, strange one. Even Goff would be decent back up.  4 goalkeepers in league 2, a bit overkill.

I’m not sure about moloney to be honest - a couple of years back he was superb but his form and fitness have been dodgy ever since. I’d only be looking at him to be cover at right back - hopefully a fully fit and motivated facey will stay as first choice.

Maloney will be fine in lg2.

Cornell is the baffling one, why would you give him a 2 year deal the blokes pony and if either goff or Coddington are any good you are just blocking their development

Maybe, Coddington will be leaving and Goff will be out on loan again.

Maybe, you'd still hope for better Cornell even as back up tbh

I think Cornell is ok as a League 2 back up, better off spending money elsewhere. I wonder how many teams will have better backup keepers than him in League 2 next year?

Surprising how many people are missing Cornell being number one with Coddington as back up.

95% at a guess would have a better back up. Is he is anywhere near the team we will struggle again next season.

You have not seen him enough of him. For instance, his performances in the 'rubbish' cup were not too bad at all. As a number 2 he is probably ok especially when it comes to penalties. Still its all about opinions.

Nevers if Cornell is anywhere near our first team we will be in the bottom third of the table.

The optimist in me is telling me this ain’t the case, don’t sew that seed

I’m sorry but there’s no way he’ll be in the bottom 2 backup keepers in the league. A decent portion of the sides will have a kid on the bench. It’s fine to not rate him of course but there’s worse out there.

If he’s first choice as tcobb suggests I’d worry as a backup, less so.

Does Cornell have a clause in his contract to trigger an extension (like Buchs)?
Thought that was dependent on appearances...strange!

Just hope we keep hold of O'Donnell!
