Does Cornell have a clause in his contract to trigger an extension (like Buchs)? Thought that was dependent on appearances...strange!
Just hope we keep hold of O'Donnell!
This might be the plausible reason for the contract?

Surely he can’t have made enough appearances to trigger a 2 year extension?
My guess is that he’s willing to take a decent pay cut

Again maybe plausible, very unlikely to be any other league club that would sign him

He'll be one of the best no 2's in the division.

Heard Cornell rumour a few weeks ago but didn't believe it for obvious reasons. Just can't understand it unless O'Donnell leaves and we make Goff No.1. Kasim's only included because they want a transfer fee. Loibjot - who admitted when he joined us that he caused problems for himself in the past but was now more grown up - caused problems for himself again and wore out his welcome.

Surprising how many people are missing Cornell being number one with Coddington as back up.
Coddington couldn't even retain the jersey at Guisley, so I expect we'll be looking to ship him out.

Yet Wrexham fans are very keen to sign him on and they were pushing strongly for the play-offs when he was with them. Funny game!

Tweet from the club with a quote from JJ pretty much puts to bed any suggestion that he'll be off

With Moloney leaving, does this mean Phillips will stay, if he can prove his fitness of course?

I would say so, unless someone else comes up to sign. They would be a backup, Facey will be the first choice RB.

His player profile has been removed from the club website... I wonder if this is a cost saving measure? Hopefully Facey can play 90% of the games, and the rest could be deputised by Whaler. Extra money to bring in players in other positions perhaps?

Shame if both Phillips and Moloney leave. Both decent players and certainly would provide decent back-up to Facey. Moloney was one of the first players signed by Wilder and one of his best signings IMO. Not quite the player he was, but still deserves a big thank you for what he helped the club achieve.

My suspicion is ROD will go and whether Cornell is number one or two . He’s a good two but not one

Isn't Whaler a winger? I think we'd need someone a bit more experienced as a backup, albeit a younger, cheaper option. Phillips would be perfect but the problem is his injury record, no point keeping him to backup Facey if he isn't going to be fit to step in. I'd guess the fact we offered Moloney a contract would mean there is money there for a second right-back.

No chance we'll go up if we have Cornell as #1 goalie.

I don't think Phillips has been offered a new contract anyway....
He's just been invited back for pre-season training where DA can asses his recovery & see if he's worth another contact
No panic...plenty of right backs out there (DA was one so he'll see us right)
