His player profile has been removed from the club website... I wonder if this is a cost saving measure?
You'd expect so. Moloney was signed to be first choice, as was Phillips and the same with Facey. 3 first team wages to fill one spot really isn't well thought out and is the end result of having new managers with new ideas. Hopefully Phillips can prove his fitness and have a contract more suited to his new squad status. Barnett and McWilliams can both fill in... although neither are ideal.

Barnett is still to sign his new contract offer. Cameron McWilliams apparently is a good prospect at right back. Better than his brother in that position.

No chance we'll go up if we have Cornell as #1 goalie.
I may have missed something, but I do not see the downer on Cornell from a number of posters. I have seen him a number of times and he hasn't caused me any major concern. I agree that we should be looking for a better first choice tried and tested keeper if RO'D departs however I wouldn't be overly phased if he was given that appointment. He hasn't been given the opportunity to play for any length of time.

Every time except Bury away end of 2017 season he has been ok for me. Played well against Posh ETC. What worries me is the standard of judgment exhibited by some on players like Archer and perhaps even vV. It's almost like a grudge thing!

He's 27 years old, been a professional footballer for over 10 years and in that time he's made 55 appearances of which 24 were for Hereford in the season they got relegated from the Football League. He had a season long loan to St Mirren which they cancelled before Christmas, followed by a season at Oldham, where they declined to take up the option of another year and he's been with us for 2 years making 14 appearances. Sorry to disagree Rim, but if he's our number one I would be amazed if he's not replaced in the January window.

No reason for ROD to leave - Still on a 2 year contract - He is our number 1
However, if someone bids & he wants to leave, we replace him with a new number 1 - IT WON'T BE CORNELL
Cornell adequate (cheap) back up, also does lot's for the community (won an award at the annual dinner)

Pretty sure that is correct! I think the game went to penalties in which he did well. I think he did well against Southampton- come in Alan Patridge to confirm please.

Hereford and St Mirren was when he was 19-22 years old. He has only played 14 games for us because he has been behind Smith, Ingram and RO'D which is understandable. I go on what I have seen when he has played for us, where he hasn't let us down. I wouldn't have an issue him playing for us to give him the opportunity, however as I said we could do better if we went with a proven GK. Anyway, is RO'D leaving? Or if he is long term injured just after the loan period ends on the 31st August we will not have a choice until January when, if he isn't good enough, he would be replaced? All I am saying is, rather than slaughter him for what he hasn't done, if the chance arises give him the opportunity.

There is not much that we disagree about, Richard, but as per our conversation at Charlton, way back, this is clearly one area. Cornell, Imo, is barely adequate as a back up / Cup GK and despite his excellent record on penalty kicks........I have never seen anything to change my mind. He clearly is a disaster just waiting to happen and fills his back line with jitters too.How he has blagged a living so far amazes me, but good luck to him anyway. If he somehow ends up as our No. 1 ! GK ...then I can't see us being anywhere near the top end of the table. Hopefully this is just conjecture. Apparently he is good to have around the squad and is popular with the Welsh contingent , as was, and a regular good guy.

Hardly a reserve match both sides had regular players selected. Both sides wanted to win; our 175 support wanted a win. Any decent result against Peterboro’ is always welcome and that includes me! Frankly he is better than your assessment and he saves penalty kicks. I have seen him play regularly and yes he does make some mistakes but so did Ingham! Not everybody on here supports your opinion on Cornell and I remain firmly in the non judgemental camp.

I think reserve team cup competitions I'll be happy with him playing in (I don't bother attending these games). Actual league games? Nah. Oldham saw him play in the league more than us I believe: http://www.owtb.co.uk/topic/48159-cornell/

You're not putting Cornell on a par with Ingram , are you Tony???

Oldham saw him play in the league more than us I believe: http://www.owtb.co.uk/topic/48159-cornell/That Oldham link really impresses me: Its a situation reminiscent of Archer. At the time Oldham was having a poor spell and as you know we quickly find a scapegoat to vent our frustrations; a la vV. Every game I have seen him play he has not been responsible for the loss or draw. He impressed me against Blackburn, Soton U23 and P'boro(Oct 2017); if he has to play as a No 1 for whatever reason I won't be too unduly worried. In fact, we have defensive players who I worry about more! Finally, I am surprised that you express such a downer on a Cobblers player particularly one who has had limited opportunities here. Give him a first team run and then perhaps we may come up with a balanced viewpoint.

Actually Boss I slowly became disenchanted with Ingram towards the end of his tenure here. Whether we like it or not Ingram was part of a defense which shipped goals for fun! Until Cornell has a run of games to prove himself I am not prepared to down him unfairly. I shall report you to 'Richard' for an unsporting opinion.
