To cap it all off Hilderberto has been sent off after the final whistle.

Jimmy, you're leading an absolute shambles.

Second half much better but game already lost by then - I just don’t understand the non enforced tactical tinkering though .

Poor tinkering today.

Crooks is out, so the whole system goes out the window. The simple thing would have been to swap him for McWilliams who must be wondering what he has to do to get a game. We've been getting results with JJOT behind the striker, so why disrupt that?

We're lucky that pretty much everyone else (bar Oldham) also lost today.

Ifollow was s***e as well tonight. Tim and Gregor suggested we were better second half? Hilda got a bit of a roasting for being Gills best asset in disrupting play, don’t know if that’s fair?

JFH to blame tonight. Again.

Don't mind what Hilda did, he was actually good when he came on and at least cares.

Or Foley. Looked a simple Crooks for Foley swap from the team sheet.

Shambolic first half followed by a pretty decent second half, but got exactly what we deserved tonight.

Fairplay to the crowd, everyone tried to get behind the team and made some noise second half but I am dumbstruck how we play so bad at times.

JFH must take some blame for playing Foley almost everywhere other than centre mid where he would excel and dropping JJOT back into midfield when he has won player of the month just behind the striker (plus Van Veen was injured).

Ariyibi must have earned himself a starting role on Saturday, Berto might have done if he had left the ref alone at the final whistle. McWilliams must be wishing he went out on loan to get some football.

Luckily most teams around us lost, so will take that as a positive.

The stupid thing is with the possibility of crooks, van veen, facey and aryibi (who was one of the main/only bright spots of the second half) starting on Saturday and possibly Poole coming back in so that turnbull can switch to left back again we could very well get a result. Bunney has shown exactly what the Rochdale fans said we were getting - he can't defend and looks a liability at left back, should only be played as a wing back or left sided midfielder. One things for sure, we've got to sort out a method of how to play when we're at home pretty sharpish - it is absolutely criminal in a relegation fight to drop 6 points against Rochdale and gillingham and the fact is that we've been sussed out and other teams will try to do the same.

The worst thing is, Gillingham didn't have to be good or do anything clever or impressive in that first half. Just some long balls over the top and we were exposed every single time.

Awful, awful, awful first half. We might have had 2 enforced changes but Long was a straight swap for VV and either McWilliams or Foley could have been a straight swap for Crooks so there was no need to change the whole team structure. In JJOT we have a player who has in the past week won the divisional player of the month award for scoring a load of goals from an advanced role AND got into the FL's team of the week for getting 3 assists at the weekend. Dropping him deeper makes no sense, particularly as we continued to lump the ball forward when, in the absence of JJOT, we had no one to win those balls.

JFH seems better at addressing issues mid game than he does on setting out a side in the first place and we were far better in the second half, but you can't turn in a first half performance like that and then expect to take anything from the game. Very poor.

Echo what has already been said - clearly JJOT winning a monthly award for his performances in the number ten role wasn't enough! He looks laboured and not interested in the deeper role and I'd have much preferred McWilliams in there with JJOT pushed up. The whole ground could see it!

Other than that we were abysmal first half and the midfield didn't have a clue. Fair play to Gills for sussing us out from the off but we were all over the place. JFH still cones across as tactically inept and even the second half, when things got better, it seemed more out of a 'throw everything up the wall and hope it sticks' method.

It's going to the wire folks!

Also Lovell realised we were on top and changed their formation and that shut up the game for them, Again, no answer.

He's one of those managers who is all about nullifying the opposition threat rather than give them a threat to think about themselves.

Why not once, just once, have a go from the off at home?? 9 home defeats now.....we've certainly been found out.

Gillingham looked tidy, quick, incise, and precise. It wouldn't have been a surprise to see us 4 or 5-0 down at half time, it was that bad!

But when we came out of our shells, had the shackles loosened, we looked a bit better. I say a bit better because we really didn't create too many chances. But at least it was a bit more exciting. Gillingham closed the game out well in the end.

What can I say about the formation that hasn't already been said? Players looked lost, JJOT is wasted further back, and with Grimes deep as well we had a back 6 for most of the first half....and still leaked goals.
Poor Foley didn't have a clue where he was from one minute to the next, Hoskins put in his normal league 2 standard shift, Bunney and to a lesser extent Moloney we're defensively shaky. Taylor and Turnbull wobbly. I'm struggling to think of anyone who came out of the game with credit today.

Grimes picked up a booking, his 9th....he's got to avoid a yellow in the next three games or its a two game ban. Hilda gets a 1 game ban for his second yellow today.

Agree with that - their double substitution coupled with our final change of Mathis for Powell killed the game stone dead and our game management in the last 10 minutes and injury time was naive to say the least.

Credit where it's due. Two great goals from a lively and effective front two for Gillingham. Bunney looked out of his depth first half and was targeted as a week point by Gillingham. He improved second half along with the rest of the team but other clubs will have been watching us tonight and will take home their reports as a week left side with Powell in front of Bunney.

Well that first half was a horror show worse than I think I've ever previously witnessed. Theres been the odd one to rival it (Plymouth away just after Boothroyd was fired) but in terms of lack of effort, desire, shape…Im struggling to think of one that actually trumps it. It could and should have been 4 or 5-0 to Gillingham at HT.

I make no apologies either when I say that Bunny's performance tonight was the worst individual performance I've seen since Constantine played for us. They may have all been rubbish tonight but Id have hauled him off after 15minutes…and stuck Poole on, moving Turnbull to left back.  Oh wait a minute, he wasn't available. Barnett then. The back 4 were all over the place, they were killing Bunny (in particular) and JFH did absolutely nothing to try and rectify it. The 2nd goal predictably soon followed and it could have been far far worse.

The half can best be summed up by Sam Hoskins feigning injury out of sheer embarrassment for messing up a dummy. Man up FFS. That was truly pathetic! And Im not talking about the dummy...

He then lobs Pierra on at half time for Foley, who has been and continues to be 'used' in a way that Page 'used' Byron at Boro. Its like he wants him to fail. Left wing, right wing, centre mid, left wing…stop using him as a pawn you bloody idiot and give the lad some stability by playing him in the same position for a few games running.

Next change, Hoskins for the Forest lad. No complaints, it did make sense. There were many abject performances on show tonight and Sams was one of them.

So by this point we had 3 wingers on the pitch, only one of whom seemed to be playing on a wing. We had Long who failed to jump for the ball once all evening (he seems to have escaped criticism but his effort levels tonight were appalling), JJ playing as a sweeper at times, Bunny constantly giving the ball away, making non challenges. Final change, Powell for Mathias. By that point JFH was just putting all the names in a hat, he didn't have a clue what to do!

JFH tonight made a right old mess of it, failed to 'manage from the dugout' after a shocking team/tactical selection and quite frankly his own performance was not far off of Pages one at Boro.

I didn't over-react after Rochdale, and saw and expected reaction at Wimbledon. But tonight is one too many for me. I didn't expect to see that lack of effort and desire again for some time. Seeing it so soon after Rochdale…I question whether we have the heart to want to stay in this division. We have a talented team but too many of them don't give a sh1t half the time. We must have one of the highest wage bills in this division.

JFH went from 6/10 to 3/10 for me this evening. He seems to over complicate simple things and keeps repeating the same mistakes. We've clearly shown our hand for this season but moving ahead, and whichever league we start in come August, I now severely question whether he's the right man to take us forward. Im seething!
