Can you explain to me why it's OK to sing about disabled people and the IRA?

You'll never walk alone ......I'll get my coat. Reminds me of my mate's drunken and frankly bizarre version of Careless Whisper.... I'm never gonna dance again, because I am Douglas Bader....

When we do though, it's a fine moment. take 0.50 of this video for example Great spot Dan!!! I was at that game and don't recall the chant for the first goal to be honest. Can clearly recall every minute of the second and third though - great times!

I used to sing the IRA song myself so it would be a bit 2 faced to condemn anyone doing so (even though I find it a bit outdated and ISIS would be more relevant nowadays). I've never had a great passion for people that would like nothing better than to kill my family and friends just for being English. As for disabled people not got a clue what you are on about to be honest?

I'm fairly sure that someone up thread suggested that they'd heard people singing about people with disabilities - if I've misremembered then fine.

Well, you made a fairly serious complaint/accusation based on a comment made on here! You might have at least first checked the veracity of the comment prior to posting a potentially controversial comment. Poor show!

Having read the many comments over the last couple of days on this thread, a lot of posters seem to be under the misapprehension that the alternative to the prolonged bouts of what I called 'gratuitous swearing' is a flat atmosphere reminiscent to the silence in a library. But the same fans responsible for these chants are also responsible for the wonderful songs, which I join in with- like Fields of Green, John Joe O'Toole, NTFC, etc., which must inspire the team. The louder the better, and I have only praise and admiration for the enthusiasm of those who start such chants and songs. There is no finer sound at an away game than supporters getting behind the players in full voice. As for agricultural language, of course it's been around forever, and there have been hundreds of examples over the years where I've been amused by chants and shouted comments which have been both funny, profound and profane. I just think the prolonged swearing can't particularly inspire the team, manager and anyone proud to be a Cobblers fan.

I'm sure this gets mentioned a lot. But can anyone explain (if indeed there is an explanation) the meaning behind to his 'orse?

Apparently 'to his 'orse' is a reference 'to his 'whores’. Source, on here some time ago.

Do you know what, by singing about the IRA in any context they are glamorising them, giving them credence and keeping them alive. Just what they would have wanted.
