My knees sometimes get a bit cold, can I bring a blanket and maybe a flask of Ovaltine. Would these be allowed in? What is the current list of objects that are not allowed?

I've seen burgers and open drinks confiscated but somehow the couple who sit in front of me manage to bring in a full sized thermos and a set of china mugs every game so you should be ok...

The blanket looks a little like Rupert the Bears trousers. I have a nice cardy but its the knees that have been the issue of late. Maybe I can wear an inverted cardy connected to the top cardy with leather straps a little like the ones you would find on the Coombs type MK2 Jag?

Smashed china can be lethal if used in the correct fashion. Razor sharp. I would think the glass from inside the thermos could also be a dangerous article in the wrong hands.

I was thinking one of those long cardy's. It would keep your body and knees warm. You could put the flask of Ovaltine in one pocket and a slice of carrot cake in the other.. Its a win win.

I could ask 78 for a bit of his cake and maybe offer him a sip of my Ovaltine in return. I am not sure the long cardy is for me unless I compliment it with some dark sunglasses and tip top martial arts skills like the lad in your image thingy. However I might then pull a thigh muscle and then need a deep tissue massage....anyone able to help if this should happen?

As long as you are not intending to use it to lead the singing or create atmosphere by shaking it in a rhythmical fashion, it should be fine.

You've seen stuff confiscated?? By our stewards? Wow.....that does surprise me!! For all the talk about searches will be carried out etc, they might as well not bother! You might get a pat down of coat pockets if you're lucky. But with one steward on each gate they don't have time, or indeed authority. My three kids are not searched...my eldest is 16. I usually give him the smoke-bombs and the alcohol just in case I do get frisked. But if you want a laugh, and i'm probably not alone in experiencing this, I was once asked to pat myself down by the steward on gate 5!!

For some reason Frank I always assumed you wore lederhosen. If so perhaps you could pull your socks up a bit? Might ruin the look, but choosing form over function especially at the expense of vanity would be a wise move? Also the Germans do a lot of thigh slapping when wearing this gear, perhaps that would help the warming process?

Stewards can be inconsistent with their demands, but should be fine.
