Totally agree on the away support. It's fantastic away (with the exception of Portsmouth where after 40 mins we fell apart - and certain 'fans' had their own ways of showing their anger at the end when the players came over to clap!!).
I'm fairly new to supporting anything football related. My father was heavily into motorsports (bike and car) in every form ; speedway, hot rods, formula 1, motorcross etc and had no interest whatsoever in football. Hence as a child I had virtually no exposure to football at all.
Fast forward 40 odd years, my son who is now 8 plays football for local clubs and academy teams and has thus given me a love for football. I started under Rob Page and I'm still here supporting !! Never had the glory of the Wilder days unfortunately, only the mediocrity of Rob Page, Justin Edinburgh and now JFH. We started only ever sitting in the Mick George family stand and always thought that there was although quiet, a general positive vibe among the supporters on that side. For the past 6 months or so we have more often been sitting in the West stand, where arguably the atmosphere is a little louder - but not always in a positive way. Lots of jeering towards JFH - some I can understand, but overall I don't think it helps the manager or the players. Yes, I too get p** off with some of the 'performances', but I know for a fact that the jeering won't make one bit of difference.
I sadly cannot make the Bristol away game, but I will be there to cheer them on come Rotherham. I really hope we can win this fight and stay in League 1.
Sorry for the random nature of my post, but I wanted to put in perspective that I've never seen NTFC in their glory days, yet I'm still here and here to stay as a supporter.
