I was tempted by Fred Murray at left back - agonising that his career was cut so short...thought he could have gone on to be a legend!

The Penalty King - Bryan Harvey? ? Frank Large has to be part of any side, ever. Left-field (get the play on words?) Dixie McNeil There was just something about Graham Felton sprinting full-tilt to get a cross in, only to be caught by the crowd in the Hotel End (for those that have never experienced a real football ground with standing, folk stood down in the depths below pitch level). Or, is my view distorted by the number of times he has gotten me LBW at cricket (he was a great fast bowler)? I always stood in awe to face him....... Don Martin for every era as a total midfielder. John Clarke was the best No4 I have ever seen. He made Norman Hunter look like a woooooosssss.......

Don't quite know what's too suspect about Chambers and Gyepes, one of whom is the current captain of a Championship side and the other widely regarded as one of the most talented defenders we've ever had, but each to their own I guess I do love a little and large partnership up front though! Your midfield and fwd selection is well thought out. The only thing to do is select by number of nominations for each position. Can’t remember K Welch being mentioned? Addendum: McPherson and Samson as Central Defenders Gregory and Neal as full backs. That should do it.

One of my favourite memories of Keith Welch was a friendly/testimonial match played at Sixfields. He had the reputation for being a real laid back character and when he came onto the pitch he brought with him a little stool, sat in the goal mouth and started reading a paper when the game kicked off.
Was possibly a Wembley 97 reunion match or similar?

Forgot about Dion Martin, we've had so many great players over the years, should try to squeeze him in somewhere.
