Hahahaha people do not come off well retrospectively in this thread Remember when we had a front two of Emile Sinclair and Alan Connell?! No wonder we nearly went non-league!! Also anyone remember 3-game Cristian Lopez from that season? Now a key player at RC Lens, scoring 24 in 46 Those were the days...... If anyone wants to read about those first few months of Wilder's tenure from a player perspective, then I recommend Leon McSweeney's blog (obviously, you need to use the scroll down facility to get to the correct blog section). He is very articulate on a number of footballing issues: https://sweeneymc83blog.wordpress.com/

Thats 13 points from 6 games we've managed from 'the new manager bounce'.
So all we've got to do from now on in is sack our manager every 3 games. We'd win the league!

Found it super interesting last night talking to the players about JFH. Confirmed what everyone suspected in terms of training methods, approach to games, random selections. Overall vibe...nice bloke, awful manager.

Spent too stood on the training pitch talking about the opposition. Didn't understand their roles. Didn't understand the tactics. Knew even if they played well they'd probably get dropped. Were confused constantly. Eventually snapped and their was a revolt. Treatment of Buchs a disgrace. Thought team selection was entirely random and not based on merit. I should say numerous of them were clear in saying he was a decent bloke just a s*** manager.

Well... At least they stepped up to the plate and played their hearts out for the supporters. Oh hang on. No they didn't. They malingered, moaned and thought fcuk it.

Guess it partly shows how important the managers role is. Same in most jobs, if your manager is a cock and s*** at his job would you give your all for him, honestly? Not sure I would...I'd do just enough.

I'm quite surprised at the lack of blame those twats have received for their part in our relegation. Completely downed tools for two managers and should be embarrassed to even turn up for an awards night let alone accept any.

I would give my all for the customers who pay my wages. For my profession. But most of all.. my pride. I guess we're just different.

Yep. Not all of them, to be fair, but a good proportion of them.

Demotivated, lack of leadership etc etc bollocks. See it all the time around work places where the leadership is woeful and the impact on workforce is clear.

Some of the players let us down but the manager is culpable - the clue is in the name. I would have a modicum of sympathy if we had no money and a limited squad on the bones of its arse or there were not enough games left - not the case for JFH who in my opinion is actually the worse manager we have ever had.

I will never dispute that his tenure was a disaster. Of course his leadership, or lack of, was hugely instrumental in our demise. However, all too often footballers dictate who manages them by downing tools at the drop of a hat. make no mistake about it. They played just as big of a part in our downfall, as did JFH. By that definition they share the blame.

You've only got to look at the Leicester City players the year after they won the prem as possibly the finest example of this point and the subsequent reaction the caretaker manager got as soon as CR was sacked! The reason why I didn't attend on Saturday (other than it being a dead game for us) was it irritates me greatly when footballers are worshipped by supporters when they shouldn't be. A recent case in point was when JJOT (who I 'love'!) was applauded off the pitch when he was sent off in the Shrewsbury match. That moment of stupidity was a huge nail in our relegation coffin yet the seals were at it again loving it and him for it! I wasn't there Saturday but Im sure 'the lads' were given an ovation at the end, the same again at Sunday nights dinner. Which I also pulled out of having been invited by a friends business, it didn't seem right to 'celebrate failure'. The effort and application levels shown during the bulk of this season has been shameful. I do accept there is mitigation at times but as a footballer the least you should do is run yourself into the ground for 90 minutes or however long you are on the pitch for. A few did and we know who they are but only 4 or 5 players trying regularly is the reason we went down. Plain and simple.
