After much deliberation, I think this is how he'll play it:

O'Donnell
Moloney Taylor Turnbull
Facey                         Bunney
McWilliams Grimes
Hilda
Lucky Long

Ariyibi, Mathis and KvV to all come on at some stage.

It won't happen but I would play Foley instead of Grimes to make us stronger in midfield and Aryibi instead of Hilda as his all-round game is better suited to the struggle we face. Our first priority has to be stopping them from scoring so if it means we have to 'park the bus' then so be it. We simply cannot afford to come away with less than a point. We will get chnaces on the break but it would be fool-hardy to play an expansive attacking gamer in these circumstances.

The bookies regard this game as hard as the Shrews in the week. I would have expected us to be lower odds but we are at least 3/1 to win. By the way did anyone else wimp out and cash out at half time on Tuesday?

Foley or Poole Grimes
Hilda
Lucky Mathis

So Foley or Poole in for McWilliams and Mathis in for Long. Foley/Poole is a stronger player than McWilliams. How on earth can people drop Mathis after his recent display is a surprise! It would not surprise me if Poole is added to midfield to ensure we can compete in what is bound to be a feisty midfield. Hope to see many of you at Fleetwood?

I was surprised to see Mathis start on Tuesday and I would be surprised and disappointed if he didn't start against Fleetwood. He's the kind of flair player we need in attack and should get some decent space away from home. I would start him with either Long or van Veen. I'm not big on Lucky, he strikes me as a poor man's Bayo and I suspect that goal on his debut will be his one and only.

I think Cobblers will need at least 12 points from the remaining 24 available. Dropped points against Fleetwood is no disaster, but dropped points increase the pressure further so really only wins will do at this stage.  A win for the Cobblers will see them leapfrog Fleetwood in the table, while a defeat will see them fall five points behind the Cod Army, who will also have a game in hand. “There is no doubt it’s a big game for both teams,” Hasselbaink said. “It’s not going to decide anything but it can push one team in the right direction or make things a little bit harder.”

A positive for the Cobblers is that they are unbeaten away from home in 2018 and Fleetwood haven’t won at home since October 2017.  “We have been very stubborn away from home and I want that to continue. We want our away performances to keep going and we need to keep working hard on getting our home form better.” The problem for Cobblers this season is you never quite know what you are going to get in terms of performance level Whether this is down to lots of new players coming in, or the man management from the manager or both, the lack of consistency has really cost us this season. Hopefully being at the business end of the season will really sharpen the players minds, the players can certainly take some confidence from the way they performed against Shrewsbury on tuesda night. “We didn’t get the three points that we wanted and I felt we deserved against Shrewsbury but overall the performance was very positive and encouraging. It showed the commitment is there but we need that level of performance on a more consistent basis. It felt like there was a real unity between the fans and the players on Tuesday night and that’s what we need. We are definitely a lot stronger together and it would have been so nice if we could have got the three points but it gave the players a big boost and I can say to the players now that’s the minimum we need to do.”

Like Cobblers Fleetwood have had a underwhelming season, they lost key players in the summer and have changed their manager. Under Sheridan, who is seen as something of a relegation fire-fighter having rescued Oldham Athletic from an even worse predicament this time last season, the Cod Army are unbeaten in four games and Sheridan has certainly shaken things up at the Highbury Stadium and fully utilised the squad at his disposal, so much so that Hasselbaink admits he will be unsure how they are going to line up until the match actually starts. I think that Hasselbaink shouldn’t worry too much about how Fleetwood will line-up and concentrate on making his own team solid. The three man defence will certainly suit Shay Facey and in particular Joe Bunney. Bunney has increasingly looked vulnerable defensively and has been caught out a couple of times recently but playing as a wing-back will allow him to concentrate on his attacking exploits. Crooks is a big miss in midfield. Grimes, has struck up a promising partnership with Crooks in central midfield, which has been one of the key reasons behind Town’s improvement. The Pereira in midfield selection in midfield last week against Rotherham simply did not work so Shaun McWilliams has to come into the side in my opinion. Cobblers have a nice variety in their options up front now, playing on the break as they tend to do will favour two more mobile strikers so I would opt for Mathis considering how well he played on Tuesday and Chris Long up-front. Van Veen doesn’t look quite ready yet and Luckassen is nice plan B option. The third attacking spot is a battle between Hoskins, Pereira and Ariyibi. I would opt for Ariyibi as he offers more creativity than the other two which is something Cobblers still badly lack in the final third.

Subs - Cornell, Barnett, Foley, Pereira, Hoskins, Van Veen, Luckassen.

The away form has been good. Not sure he should change the shape that has been working well to go to three at the back.

Yes, being at Rovers, and subsequently the Rotherham debacle, feel that too. More a lucky head at Rovers!

I can see this point but I think if we are to ever gain some consistency overall, the team selections and formations needs to be consistent. We've also only drawn our last 2 away games, and we were quite lucky to get a point at Bristol.

Agreed. It doesn't matter if we are home or away now.  There's only eight games left. Jimmy should he going for three points in every match.

My team would be

                      ROD
      Moloney  Taylor.  Turnbull
Facey                                  Bunney
              McWilliams  grimes

                  Ariyibi
Long.         Van Veen ( lucky )

I don’t think Foley offers anything to the team and Mathis is a bench player .
Ariyibi is a real threat every time he plays whilst Hilda has been a disappointment .
