When we won promotion with Wilder, Alan Knill rightly got some of the credit. On that basis, should Austin take some of the blame for our position now?

That said I am glad that we are giving him a chance to show us what he can do and we are not appointing another new face at this point in time.

Yep, no point getting in a fire fighter type now - this saves money and gives KT time. The next appointment is a huge one for the club.

Plus with all the turmoil off the pitch who knows who might be in charge in the summer - if by some miracle KT finds outside investment/sells the club they will have their own ideas who they will want as manager.

Probably but it’s impossible to know from the outside. As I mentioned on another thread (I think) it’s striking that Jimmy has gone along with Pemberton but Austin stayed. Maybe they were the de facto management team and marginalised Austin.

We only knew about Knill because Wilder was always quick to give him credit. Maybe he deserved it, maybe he was just bigging up his mate.

If Austin keeps us up then the job must be his.
Its a difficult one. Wilson and Broadhurst both did well, having been promoted from within. Sammo did OK, and Richard Hill f***ed up big style. Theres others that escape my memory.
Having said that, if Austin does keep us up, then he can have his own open top bus parade.

I guarantee, that if you stick 20 quid on any of those, some quite frankly ludicrous suggestions, then their odds would tumble.

Dean Austin was never JFH’s man, if memory serves in interviews with Hasselbaink he had never worked with him before - it seemed like it was a club appointment to have him as assistant.

Very very bad week for the board. Jimmy will go onto better things it's nailed on and prove himself to be nowhere near as inept as he has been. Why do so many competent managers lose the plot when they join the Cobblers? There's a worrying pattern forming.

The only chance Sir Chris has of managing in the Premiership for more than a few games is staying where he is. He is not stupid.

This!!

Austin and JFH were arguing at the Charlton game.......he may have been "club appointed" but he might have had little input into anything......we'll soon see if things change. Attitudes and effort, general style of play and a more settled team.........results may come, they may not.....I just want to see more from the team!
