[/quote] We are waiting to interview a manager that is still involved with the play offs that has applied for the ntfc job but needs to conclude the season. The decision will then be made.
Clearly not 😂

Well that was the worst kept secret. Perhaps we should speculate on who should be his No 2.

I do think this is the right appointment. The way Dean has reconnected the club to the fans in a short amount of time is admirable. Gives him the whole summer now too and hopefully means the better players remain.

Congratulations Dean, get them playing like you did against Plymouth and we will all enjoy ourselves. The correct appointment in my eyes, knows the players and their attitudes and plays people in their correct positions.

Agree totally with this, certainly would not have been my choice, he did reconnect with the fans, he will certainly have been the cheaper option and I really hope KT dosent come to regret it once again come xmas. But he is tge man to take us forward so let's get behind him

I think relegation actually brings Austin a bit more time, patience wise, than League One would have. It gives him a chance to let us breathe a bit and though fans expectations will be of finishing top seven I think if we start to enjoy coming to Sixfields and away games again then it's a huge start. When was the last time a manager even mentioned the Under 9's in an interview? That, to me, is key and shows a vision beyond his own time at the club. He comes across as genuine and not someone to just spout nonsense and sound bites and reckon he could also have a few decent contacts in the game. Excited to see what the summer brings and hopefully we can all come back in August a united front.

Having read what DA emphasises as his priorities, I think Sammo would be an ideal No.2.

Happy with DA as manager, if the last 4 games are anything to go by then I expect the enjoyment factor will return.

I think this appointment is 100% the right one . Dean Austin reminds me of Chris wilder in many ways . He is very strong with the players and takes absolutely no sh*t . At the same time he builds bonds with people and I loved the way he came over and met the fans at Walsall . It means so much to a club like ours that is based upon a one for all spirit . Where he differs from Wilder is his vision of building a true club from the roots to the first team. He will be involved with the young players and bring them through . JFH has no interest in this and neither did other managers before him. This is a good appointment and I sincerely hope he succeeds because he is exactly the sort of character we need at this club

Perfectly summed up. The talk of bringing young lads through is music to my ears. Helps to create an overall club ethos. Thanks for the info too B&S.

Good to hear Dean has got the job, and good luck to him.
Yes, and well done to boot and shoe for getting it correct.
Dean meets the media on Tuesday, so I take it he's currently away and that's why it hasn't been announced before today.

Spot on, Boot and Shoe. There has been a disconnect between first team and academy for years. Time to change and I hope DA is the man to bring that about.
