I think everybody needs to realise it is not over yet! Yes we are all frustrated and angry but we follow the cobblers ffs. We have been through much harder times than this and we have had much worse teams than this.we have been in many relegation battles and stayed up. Let’s really get behind our team and see what happens. If we don’t win tomorrow it will be over but if SOMEHOW we do get 3 points we could just have hope ! NTFC BORN TO SUFFER. #haditworse

Is 'Get a grip' some kind of euphemism?

This is all true and you are absolutely right , but never , never had there been such a lack of belief and determination amongst the players and management . That’s why we are doomed .

The original poster message deserves support. You keep mentioning doom and wonder if that is appropriate.

In past relegation battles, there's always been a glimmer of hope, a fighting spirit on and off the field, we've had bad luck, goals dissallowed, crap referee decisions to blame and to get us fired up. The only game that has resembled a relegation battle was the Shrews game and what has come since, which was the same as before that game, is what really hurts. The Shrews game was a tantalising glimpse of a proper relegation battle.......and I love a relegation battle......but it looks like we are being denied that, along with any self respect as Cobblers fans to be able to look back and say 'we gave it a go' because the plain truth is we ent. This relegation 'battle' is the Bradford play off game but spread over a third of a season.

O, Donnel
Facey Taylor Barnett Buchanan
Pierra Crooks McWilliams Ariyibi
Van veen Long
Actually full backs at full back , wingers on the wings (both very talented by the way ) centre mids in centre mid , centre halves at centre halve and two strikers instead of one poor lad running round like a tit in a trance chasing lost causes. Some of our players must be losing the will to live and that’s probably what we are seeing . I might still be under the influence from last night but I’ve got a feeling we can do this 🙈🙈🙈🙈

The only logical reason as to why the clown is still in charge is because there's a dispute as to who actually owns the club and is therefore responsible for making the decision to get rid of him. It's an absolute circus show from top to bottom and everyone involved knows it. We're going through the motions to fulfill our obligations to the fixture list and that's about it.

Can't argue with the above. After Friday, I would leave Turnbull, Maloney and Grimes out as well. Maybe the only change I would make is to play with an extra midfielder. That would be Foley given what's available and leave out KVV. We need grafters who will fight. When we've been near relegation in the past, we've had less talented players, but a lot of them had fight, guts and endeavour.

Agree about the full backs and wingers but I wouldn't have Barnett when you could have Poole

We need grafters all over the pitch, or as many as possible with our squad.
O'Donnell
Facey-Barnett-Taylor-Buchanan
Pereira-McWilliams-Foley-Ariyibi
Hoskins
Long
4-4-1-1
Hoskins' best form was when Page played him in a free role, I would try this again. I'm not a fan of Barnett but Turnbull has been awful recently, so without Pierre there is no option but to give Barnett a go.

I think Poole gets bullied as a centre half, if he's going to play he's better as a holding player in the centre of midfield.

The team I would select is
O’Donnell Facey. Taylor. Barnett. Buchanan
Ariyibi. Crooks. McWilliams. Berto Long Van Veen
If any of Berto , Long or Van Veen start to shirk, yank them off sharp. I would drop Turnbull who has been average since he got here and put in Barnett who is a fighter. I would continue with Buchanan in a back four because of his spirit . It’s time Grimes was left out for more steel in the centre . Anyone that pulls out of a tackle or can’t be bothered to chase down should get dogs abuse from the crowd

I’m glad everybody seems to agree that we actually have 2 very good wingers on loan that have not started a match together on the flipping wings 🙈

No width was one of the major issues pre jimmy he even identified it himself. He went out and got players to help but then never played them together. BONKERS!!

Completely agree.
It’s not hard is it? Just play the best people available in their best positions. It is literally that simple.
JJOT in for Crooks when he’s back. If we were to go with this for the last six games then I could believe it might not all be over yet......
But we won’t though, will we? He’s more likely to employ Berto at sweeper on Monday.
This is how ridiculous the situation is. We could drag someone out of the stands, let them pick the team and things would improve.

The best I've seen us this season was when we had Turnbull at left back, Poole partnering Taylor in the centre and Bunney on the left wing.
O'Donnell
Facey - Poole - Taylor - Turnbull
Ariyibi - Crooks - McWilliams - Bunney
Long - Lucky
I cannot believe the support people are giving Van Veen on here. Id rather have Clive Platt in our attack at the moment!

Spot on...especially the Bradford analogy! Still, just shelled out fifty sheets for a return to Manchester Piccadilly in two weeks!
