.... but after 35+ years of this I can't help thinking that ONLY the Cobblers could take me from the high of Fratton Park at 5.00pm on 07th May 2016 to this, in such a ridiculously short space of time.

Who was it said "We go again" ??

Would be boring and expensive if we were like Man City.

I don't know. If I were a long standing Man City fan I think I could cope with what was happening up there currently. They've not always been good and I doubt Manchester was a fun place to be a City fan in the '90s

33+ years for me and some great highs and some big lows, but I wouldn't change any of it, would love to see us do a Bournemouth during my lifetime and reach the premiership, even though if we did that we would only be there for a season or 2 before we headed back down! But I will always be there even if we do a Torquay or worse. Unfortunately it gets in your blood and you just have to keep coming back for more, be it pleasurable as with some of the promotion years or extremely painful as in when we have been close to going out of business (though at least then the players always fought) or as this season when players don't seem to care.
Sometimes I thinnk would it have been the same if I had gone with my mates to Leicester rather than with another set of mates to Cobblers, then reality kicks in and I realise it could only be The Cobblers and the ups definitely are worth the lows.

I don't understand people who say they're done and are never coming back "as long as ___ is in charge" ... we all know we'll all be there at Sileby in the sun because we can't wait for it to start again!

Love the local pre-season games! Sileby this year was a great sunny day packed with goals.

Maybe next season Cobblers could host a day tournament at Sixfields, and invite 7 other teams from the County (e.g. Brackley, Kettering, Corby, Rushden & Diamonds, Daventry, Sileby, Wellingborough).

They could split the pitch into halves and do a 7-a-side tournament (which youth players could take part in) and fill up the ground with fans from all over the county watches on the sides. I'm sure there would be quite a bit of interest in this and it would help to unify Northamptonshire footballing partnerships; maybe showcasing youth players to local sides looking to take them on loan.

What do you think?

The emotional rollercoaster of the Cobblers. Absolutely love it.

To experience lows we have to experience highs. Happy to be part of the Claret & White Army.

So where were you at Frome Town last season?

Or is local, no effort required the key words here?

Oh look it's you again, the same snarky sad-act as from the other post.

Can you not read? The first line of my post was quite literally: "Love the local pre-season games!" My idea was to create a full day of football with a packed Sixfields, family atmosphere and something a bit different with the 7-a-side. Bringing all the best teams from the County for a community feel. I think it's a good idea.

And yes, no effort is the key word. Why on earth would you want to drive for 2 and a half hours to the arse end of nowhere to watch a game against some nobodies? £40 petrol plus whatever else for a game against Frome, no thanks.

Think you need a hobby mate.

Also, how would you even know if I had gone?  Roll Eyes

Yes , we all moan ....and then come the new year friendlies , we are full of optimism and champing at the bit for football to return.

Of all the seasons, also spanning 60 + years ,though, this one has to be one of the most annoying & frustrating.......but it's not over yet !???

IF we are to go down let's go down fighting, but sadly our fate may also be the hands of others. However we are at least playing many of the other relegation fodder.....so let's make a better fist of it than at Fleetwood .

..........So Is Deano the man to change our fortunes?  Would he even want the Manager's job? If he can bring his heroics and leadership of the epic Eagles campaign to the fore ...who knows? / maybe.....but what has he been doing during JFH debacle? Let's hope he emerges from his shadow and galvanises some team spirit and positive team selection.

COYC.
