McWilliams stood out.

I have also to give a special mention to Sammy Hoskins who literally ran his socks off.

Unusually for this season the whole team were totally motivated - perhaps because there was actually a plan and they knew what their roles were!

McWilliams for me in what was a brilliant all round team performance. It does beg the question though, where has that performance been all season.

Brilliant from Austin to find a way to accommodate JJOT, Grimes, McWilliams and Crooks in the same side. The formation worked at treat with Shaun adding extra bite in a central midfield role and allowing Grimes to play a more creative role, and with Crooks, JJOT and Powell having license to maraud deep into the Plymouth half this was the most attacking performance of the season. So many good chances were created we could easily and perhaps should have had 4 or 5.

Who would have thought playing Hoskins on his own up front would work, but it did. It meant Cobblers had to play the ball through the middle rather than hoof the ball to a target man, and the football was so much better for it.

As for man of the match, I was delighted that Shaun got the MOM on the day he fully deserved it, but I will give my vote to the man that ran his socks off and posed the Plymouth defense all sorts of problems, the much underrated Sam Hoskins.

McWilliams for me too, a touch of class from DA to sub him at the end , so he could be given the standing ovation he deserved.

Mention for Powell , two assists today , he has the ability to terrify defenders but hides for 80%of the game arghhhhh!!
Not a time to knock anyone , but the first “assist” was actually a really poor piece of play from Powell !
It was a very poor shot that JJOT did well to finish off

Drilled in low and across goal. Smart play and allows for chances like O'Tooles goal to come about.

Nah , I’m not having that .
Assist by luck not fortune - I’m not knocking Powell but he was fortuitous on this occasion

Agreed, a percentage ball that puts it into the danger zone for the incoming striker or a defenders deflection/mis-hit for an OG...

Clearly it’s not a fact , it’s a subjective opinion and I have no issue at all with others holding a different opinion to me !!
