After all the abuse Grimes has had on here I must say I'm surprised to see him just behind Taylor and Balding in the POTS award...even ahead of JJOT

Fortunately, my chances to witness the performances this season have been somewhat limited.
But, regardless of how well you die-hards think things have gone this season, what happens on this coming Saturday should be all about Saturday.
Dissatisfaction with previous performances has been fully demonstrated to the players at the matches concerned. They don't need us to now wipe the floor with them.
Boycotting the game may mean you are not able to boast a "Chester" or a "Shrewsbury" in the future. It also shows something of an immature "it's my bat and ball so I am going home and taking them with me" attitude (of course, as I pick and choose my fitures based on my availability, then, I have no grouse with those that see aspects of their real lives as more important than the Cobblers). But, why do I get the visual image that most of the Board contributors are really versions of Eric Cartman?
Who knows, maybe we will win on Saturday by a 9-goal margin, consigning Oldham & Rochdale, whilst saving our own skins?
If that first effort from Powell would have gone in last Saturday, maybe Walsall would have collapsed - and then, if we'd won 0-5, this Saturday would be just like that Bristol Rovers semi. (Didn't we just love it when Ian Holloway had to eat his words?)
But, the Walsall game does not hide the fact that we were dire for most of the season.
However, let's end the season on a positive. Why? Because we want to be positive about bouncing straight back next season. Please, don't send the players away thinking that the supportees are ****, else they wont want to play for us. There are some good players in our squad that we should encourage!
Further, it may be that we already have the right person here to be our managerial saviour next season. Send him off on a downer, and he may not be back.....
This game is a new start for all involved. Over the last 3 games, it has been clear that our starting XI has been up for the challenge. On Saturday, unfortunately, the substitutions went slightly pear-shaped. But, I think it is clear that our new management team learnt a very valuable lesson that will never be repeated, should they remain here. Sadly, on Saturday, there was no breathing space to recover..... the season was won or lost on that spin of a coin. Not a good way to judge a Manager fresh into role.
So, if we have XI starting the game on Saturday who understand what is required of them, perform to the same standards as the last 3 games, and who we want to be part of our team next season (if they stay), then why not get behind them?
Maybe discounted tickets for home fans may help swing the floating supporter, and fill the stadium?
Cobblers will win. It may not save us, but, let's get momentum going so that we start next season knowing we won 3 out of 4 at the end of this season.
I love you all.

Good post Overseas. Just let’s all step back from the edge, take a deep breath and imagine what would have being posted on this thread if there had been one layer less of paint on that Walsall post on Satdee? The difference between utter despair and uncontrollable elation down to the thickness of a paint brush. Oh what a strange and wonderful world we inhabit. I do know one thing though .... I bloody love you too man!

Jim Hall, why were we so fickle as to boo you out of the County Ground first time around, only for you to be a hero second time around? Big hugs to a true hero!!!!!!

What do we reckon for line up Saturday then? No loan players and a couple youth players thrown in for experience (and crowd management...) before next season? O'Donnell Facey Taylor Pierre Buchanan Whaler McWilliams Crooks Powell O'Toole
Van Veen Hoskins

Van Veen Hoskins I would risk vV instead of Hoskins if only to determine his ability over a full game. If he shows a lack lustre Attitude sub him and let him know how we feel. Hoskins is a great servant of the club but imo very limited.

The more recent signings are probably all stewing that they signed wage related relegation clauses in their contracts. Play a few yoof.

I think someone should just take this city of Peterborough and just... just flush it down the f***in' toilet

Agree, totally pointless playing any loan players in this one...
Get those two youth lads in and even young McWilliams brother
Get Goff or Coddington n sticks too...

I don't think we are allowed to make too many changes. Integrity of the league is at stake and our result is still important to other teams, particularly Rochdale.

The integrity didn't matter much to Millwall last time we went down. I think they had already qualified for the play offs. Didn't they play a much weakened team against Carlisle? If my memory serves me right if Carlisle hadn't won that match we would have stayed up.

That's correct, I have never forgiven Kenny Jackett for that. Things may have tightened up more recently though and the strength of the team you can play.

I can't imagine Austin will suddenly make massive changes anyway, maybe a couple, but nothing that could be compared to Millwall.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Crooks drop out if his hamstring has been giving him a hard time, and probably a change up front too.

I have seen The Cobblers win 9-0. So it is possible, mind you it was 1958 at the County Ground. Once every 60 years seems about right. Against Exeter if anyone interested.

We should give them an extra 500 at least.
I would’nt - why do we need more of them? We want to win in front of many as our supporters possible. We can’t be short of £10k plus, well I hope not!
