Quite a few of the players gave their shirts away yesterday. Also Ash Taylor "encouraged" the players to go up to the south end.

I would be amazed if Jon-Joe left in the summer. He's no spring chicken at 29 and any club going for him wouldn't know if they are getting the pre or post Southend player. It strikes me that he's a confidence player that wants to be loved (don't we all?) and he's likely to shine for us in league two. He's played over three times more games for us than any other club so why would he risk a move?

If you believe the man himself, he "ain't going anywhere, love the place".

JJOT is a really nice , humble bloke . He loves the fans of this club and feels like the team has let them down . The lads were all very friendly this afternoon and last night at the end of season get togethersi

Make him captain next season. He plays with the responsibility of one already!

At the end of the day if people leave then so be it. If they don't want to be here then we don't want them here.. Personally it's the usual people who think they know that actually don't have that first clue and like a good rumour which I'm sure there will be plenty of in the coming months. All I know Is I want a squad of players who want to be here and playing for NTFC. [/quot Dead right Sir.

He certainly doesn't sound like a man who's planning to leave in his interview on the club website. Heartening stuff and in my eyes a true Cobblers legend.

Only way I think he'd move is if the new manager tries to move him on to free up some wage budget (would be a huge mistake imo) or if a big League One club (Sunderland if Wilder goes there?) comes in for him.
Either scenario seems unlikely to me and I fully hope / expect he stays

Hopefully if as now looks likely he stays he gets a good long rest and comes back to pre season training fully fit - his botched operation last close season put him well back and he was then playing catch up with his fitness. He hasn’t looked right for large chunks of the latter part of the season so I hope he won’t require another op.

selling John Joe would be absolutely crazy, regardless of finances. The club would lose more than it would save. The player has also found his footballing 'home', if he does move it will be 12 months down the line when he's out of contract.

John-Joe is a club legend and has played over 150+ games for the club, more than any other he's played for. Unless he gets a offer too good to turn down I'd expect him to see out his contract and leave next summer if we dont go up.

Fair play to JJOT for committing to the club - the man is a gent. There are a number of players that have got us in this mess and don’t want to help us out of it and want out .

He's North London based isn't he? Would think a move to somewhere like Luton would interest him. But then again he's had issues in his career and if he's happy here why move.

I’m not being funny but please can you name names - I’m sure it wouldn’t betray any confidences? I think we know by now that van veen is one but I’d like to know who else you think “wants out”.

Hoping he stays. Also hoping he gets put back into the centre of midfield next season. Granted he has done a job further forward but he is still a goal threat playing from midfield and also dictates the pace of the game, something we have not done well this season (like most things).
