It sounds like most of our fans on here are happy we are back in L2 because of they know where the best pubs and nights out are FFS  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
Maybe you have a better criteria if you travel away?
If the purity of football hits top billing, take a train and a few tinnies to Anfield...or easier, get yourself to the Pickering Phipps!  Roll Eyes

Agree, why does it matter who you are playing?

The dedicated fans will be there regardless but I'm sure the floating fans (who must make up a fair number on the attendance every week) would rather see us play Sunderland, Charlton, Portsmouth rather than Forest Green, Morecambe etc.

Lincoln and Grimsby travel well and will probably bring decent followings there is also Mansfeild,Swindon Surly Cambridge and maybe Colchester will also bring a few.So not all bad on decent away followings.

Grimsby and Colchester will bring the standard few hundred unless it's a big end of season affair.

I'd add Tranmere to the list though I'd expect them to bring a fair few.

Out of that list I'd say Cambridge are possibly the only ones that would sell out the South and overflow of the East.

Stags will bring 500, Swindon 800, Lincoln 800, Grimsby 300.

Compare those both financially and the atmosphere generated through games against P*sh, Luton, Oxford and even Wycombe then the players deserve even more rotten fruit thrown at them for their "efforts" last season.

Those that stay with us for next season owe us big time.

Feels like League 1 and above are pulling away. Not too much difference between top half of the Conference and League 2.

Yeah, it's a strange one. The only team I turn up to watch is Northampton Town. Playing a former prem team adds absolutely zero excitement to me as a fan... but it really does add onto the home gate (plus away gate naturally).

A page or two back someone was saying the same thing about Top of League 2 / Bottom of League 1. I think the reality is that the quality of each league waxes and wanes each season. Looking at the promoted/relegated teams from the last 2 seasons gives plenty of examples to support either argument to be honest.

Personally I think over time League 1 will always be slightly closer to League 2 in quality than it is to the Championship.

The 3 teams relegated from the Championship all bounced straight back up with vastly similar teams. I believe this shows the difference in quality between League One and The Championship is probably at an all time high?

You could save money and just watch them train😂
If you enjoy watching a better quality of player playing against better teams attracting bigger gates, this dictates the size of budget😉

We need to bounce back first time of asking which we did during the two Kevins  reign?

That's actually an interesting point. For those that just watch home games then the standard of football is practically the only difference between the various divisions we happen to be in. So it's understandable that it's the main criteria for season tickets.

For those that travel away the game is the focal point but only part of the whole day. To illustrate this we are far more likely to get more going to Swindon than we did against Blackburn or Wigan despite the virtual certainty of much lower quality football on display.

You think we'd have had more travel to Swindon than Blackburn last season had both been in league one?

I'm not sure, I just plucked the three clubs out of the air. My point is that people are more likely to go to away games where the locations are easier to get to and for the enjoyment of the overall day rather than exclusively the quality of the football. Of course, the football is part of the equation but only a part.

You really need to remove Swindon to help your point then as Swindon is a s***hole, the away section is in the corner and falling apart and the A420 can be hell. Apart from that I fully agree  Grin

Really looking forward to the League Two campaign. Getting relegated was a heart break - of course, I can laugh about it now but... Grin
