So the club just tweeted re the Spain trip

Recorded interview with Dean Austin that will go out across our channels later and in coming days. For those travelling to Spain, we are still planning game but if it doesn't happen DA isn't too concerned.  If no game, DA will arrange open training session/meet fans event. (1/2)

Either way, the game or the event will take place most probably on the Tuesday or possibly the Wednesday. If supporters are there for Tuesday and Wednesday you will be there for whatever takes place. Thanks for your support!

Now the club does quite a bit right but this is just pathetic. Not sure even if there will be a game out there or even the date. Not good enough. It's laughable when i was prepared to put in the leg work to organise decent opposition, with a great European city break and fan culture element. Hopefully the Trust or some sort of committee can be set up next year to co-ordinate pre-season.

I can't tell if you are genuinely being serious with that last sentence or just taking the piss. If you want a nice European city break get on the Ryanair website, book a flight and take your NTFC towel that can be used as a good conversation starter with the locals.

The trust should have precisely f*** all to do with arranging pre season, which should be entirely based around what the manager feels is necessary to get his team ready for the coming season. It's for the players to get fit and bond, not for the supporters to drag themselves along for the ride. Enjoy something non Cobblers related for a few months over the summer; it's a big wide world out there and it isn't all claret coloured!

It's perfectly viable to do both as you will see other progressive clubs doing except in this case cos the club organises it it's deemed beyond critique by some. Get the small things right and you'll build a decent club.

Meccano , are you on a wind up ? If your not that has to be the most pathetic post I've ever seen on a forum. You really need to get a life mate.

I have a life and part of if is seeing progressive clubs up and down the country and overseas and how they do things. The mistake I made was posting on here, was just sticking up for the originator of the thread who was suggesting Oxford City as opponents to no avail (miraculously got a fixture sorted after this thread appeared though).

Would a supporters committee hurt to look at pre-season? Probably not but I've made my point enough now. Cheers.

Glasgow Rangers V Bury.. unless someone was pulling my leg, that is a great PSF fixture, one I would definitely go to had we been lucky enough to get them or any top 6 scottish team.

Seems a bit too much  stress on the discussion on these games - completely irrelevant and typically have no bearing on the season to come - for some, a nice summers day in a relaxed atmosphere somewhere different - what’s not to like - and if you don’t - don’t bother. I had two fantastic trips to North Carolina and Seville but the football was a complete side show.

Fleetwood Town going to Budapest on fans tour. Sort of thing I'm talking about. Last season they played Karlsruher in Austria. Well organised and progressive club is Fleetwood.

The moment you start slagging the football club off for not going on a European pre season tour is the moment you need to start looking for a new hobby.

You absolute sad act.

Cut him some slack

You wont be calling him that when he takes his progressive fan owned phoenix club on a european tour,  in their bespoke hummel kit,  all this whilst the new ground is being built, all funded by a just giving page.

Their away and even home attendances are pi$$ poor. How many of their support actually went to Austria; not counting wives etc who must only be 'passengers'!

Never slagged the club off. Instant self defence mode on here when you mention things could be done better or other ways of doing things. The rest is fairly accurate lol.

Must admit Budapest wasn't on my list but some terrific clubs and country steeped in footballing history. Home of Gabor Gyepes too. What a player.
