John Marquis clearly feels we've got a good player.

His Tweet from earlier "Great guy & top player! Give this man service & he will get goals!! NTFC got a top player! All the best Willo, you'll love it at the Cobblers!"

That'll do for starters...seems to have the character that Austin likes and always good to have a bit of experience at this level.

Nice to see the Cobblers still treading the same old road. Signing 32 year old forwards is the Clubs preferred way forward.

That's one way of looking at it. Personally I see it as a sign of things to come in a different way. The fella has four promotions under his belt, including a recent one from League 2. Plus, I have friends in Doncaster who tell me he works his socks off every game. This suggests to me that although we may not be wowed by some of Deano's signings, the man himself knows exactly who/what he is looking for.

And a few of these next year will hopefully keep us smiling.

I agree with the above.
My report from Donny was that he isnt as hard working as Marquis (not many are to be fair) but he will score goals in L2 (if fit). Could be a good signing.

We've made a lot of 'exciting' signings in recent times: Grimes Perreria, Van Veen etc. None of them have turned out that well....

Austin is right to prioritise industry and character in his new recruits.

Judging by the impression he is giving DA will only be signing players who give their all for the shirt. My guess, and it is a guess, is that this bloke will fall slap bang in the middle of this category. He’d better because this squad is crying out for them? I reckon that will be the main criteria for any signing?

Pretty quick, works hard, decent in the air, scores goals, tried and tested in L2. From what I've seen, KVV hasn't ticked any of those boxes yet.

Flippin' heck - vV has not played a full game yet due to injury sustained at AFCW. If he stays and plays a few games then he may come good.....hopefully!

Even more damning for JFH if true because to the vast majority it just looked like he didn’t want to be playing and/or couldn’t be bothered. If someone is injured that badly they shouldn’t be near the squad.
Let’s hope for a JJOT like comeback.

This is the market we are now in .
League 2 is a different ball game and we are not going to attract players that blow your socks off .
Williams seems a decent enough striker with a good record .
It does hit home that we are only replacing Rico and Revell with more of the same , if not a down grade !
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but one of those two should have been kept .
The JFH factor came into play there though and he knew best .

Think he good work well with Iaciofano alongside him doing the leg work.

Don't think we'll find out as Iaciofano won't get a look in

Van Veen has not been injured .
The reason he didn’t play was not down to injury .
All players carry knocks - crooks played through his for example .
Some players at this club were t*ssing it off .

IMO Williams (If fully fit) is an upgrade on Richards and Revs - Rico is 3 years older (which once you hit 30+ is a fair bit older) and you could clearly see not good enough for Lg1

Revs was never a goal scorer and is also 34 - this guy is more of a natural finisher.

If offered 1 of the 3 tomorrow I'd take Williams every day of the week.

Meh.

So we've not managed to woo Salah, Ronaldo or Messi...

Wtf. We'll just have to make do with a striker who's proven at this level...

For those making comparisons to Rico and Revs... well, they did alright in L2 this season and this guy is younger than the pair of them.

He'll do alright for us.

I think...😁

Some people just like to moan.He has not even played for us yet and he is no good.I do agree getting rid of Rico was a big mistake should of kept him for his experience and love for club he might of given some of the player's a kick up the arse last season and showed the same passion as Buchanan did when he got recalled to the match day squad/team.
