Is it worth someone (the Trust) organising an extraordinary emergency open fans meeting?

(Catchy title I know)

There seem to be A LOT of different opinions and lots of in fan arguing and at this moment in time I personally think it would be great to try and get some form of fan unity. It will require a bit of sense from all sides of the argument.

Just an idea.

Think the Trust have proposed one if there is no progress in negotiations between the club and Council.

Lovely stuff.
It will be if we avoid pressing the council into rash decisions to award undeserved land leases.
Has this clubs support base ever been so divided 😂

Very good idea, we need a united a front as possible.
And most of all we need transparency from BOTH parties.

Your misguided bile will result in the demise of our club in my opinion - whatever your contempt for our current owners your support for a broken and odious council shows you lack both integrity and common sense....

I keep repeating the question and you keep failing to reply  - the club is officially up for sale (it always was) - so where are these local non - speculators waiting in the wings you promised us? -failure to answer gives you about as much credibility as your mate Jonathan Nunn....

Love the title and the sentiment, but honestly when was the last time we weren’t all arguing? I’ve managed to do more arguing on here than I do with the wife. Now that is extraordinary.

Sadly, probably true mate.

Yet again Beds you are wrong, the fans are totally united against your opinion!

If there is a meeting will you be there, especially if KT attends?,.............I won't hold my breath!

Firstly, theres 'up for sale' then theres also 'up for sale'
Secondly, I do not want the supporters of our club demanding the council hand over free land /leases without first knowing what our club stands to gain and it gaureenteed.
If we stand to make nothing or as you could imagine a piss taking token gesture, I believe it would be better the council stand firm at this time and maybe NTFC (our club not any passing consortium) benefits fully in the near future.

Lets put our club first.

Beds is right in that if the club is up for sale, what has KT got to lose in publishing exactly what the issue is?
A plain English drawing of the land, lease issue etc. It’s already a very public spat so if he wants support it’s the best thing to do.
The council could do the same if they feel the situation has inherently changed.
At the moment we know the council are hopeless (being kind) and KT had £4m aside to finish a stand which hasn’t happened. He definitely would be getting more support if it wasn’t for the Chinese fiasco and his appointment of 3 useless managers, without following Cardoza.
Whilst he is accessible on a 1-1 basis, I also think his ‘under promise/over deliver’ outlook has translated into poor wider communication.
Hope we get some clarity over the coming weeks.

The under promise / over deliver thing hasn't worked in my opinion as to date apart from an extra entrance on the gents in the west stand what has he delivered, apart from 3 crap managers and a relegation!

Finally the penny is beginning to drop on KT.

Yes, and not before time.  I am also sure the owners want out.

However, finding a buyer willing and financially able to take on the East Stand, redevelopment issues and the appalling NBC may be something of a challenge. In the context of a pending sale the one positive thing to come out of our relegation to the bottom division is that the club'e value must also have dropped.

Does the wider land actually have to be developed to deal with the East Stand? We've never seen any costings for a basic fit out or the effects of demolishing the thing. Who knows someone might want to take over that isn't too interested in the land behind and wants to deal with a football club?

I am not saying that it does but that CDNL was land previously held by NTFC and it must have a significant redevelopment value.  I know there are issues of contamination but I also know that some remedial work has been carried out on the land.  How the Council ever allowed this land to leave the club's ownership and be owned by the Cardozas I do not know.  Now CDNL and with it the land is under the control of Bower and Thomas.  The only check on it is are the rights of NBC as lessor and as the local planning authority.  The performance of the Council over many years does not instil any belief or confidence that they will use their powers for the long term benefit of the football club or the people of Northampton.  This land may represent a once in a lifetime opportunity for NTFC to have an income stream from other non-football activities on that land once it is developed.

What comes to mind is what happened at Oxford where Kassam owned the stadium and the surrounding land.  I think Kassam still owns the stadium and all these years later no stand has been constructed at the "away" end.  The surrounding restaurants and other outlets are all owned by Kassam and the football club gets nothing.  This is a very bad precedent for us which we must strive to avoid but it is, how shall I put it, rather close to home.

and Oxford pay £500k per season for the privilege too

I asked the Trust if they had a basic map they could show me but I don't think they had one or at least one that they could make public.
